Hi Pen,

Santa's standards on naughtiness must have slipped because I got some really great presents.

  A few puns for you

God's Tech Support

Best Friend

What's for Dinner?

I’ll leave you with this to think about.  How would it be if this had been the case?

Hi Jack

Pleased to hear your got some great pressies despite all your naughtiness   Lets hope Linda fared as well >:D

Your snippets & puns really tickled me   Like John I liked God's Tech Support ;D

My rebus is one of a series of books which were adapted into an excellent television series.

MR,
Please lose the third letter of the first picture.  You're not interested in the actor in the third picture just what he is.  (I included him as he is one of Zoe's favourites - especially in Doctor Who!)  Please ignore the lady in the fourth picture & you want the nickname of the gent in the last picture - minus the s!
Hope that all makes sense!

As it's Boxing Day this is an extra clue for those who don't know who the gent with the pink trousers is!

I know I'm a bit late with the first one but it tickled me after my rebus the other day ;)

If two vegans have an argument is it still called a 'beef'?
Or is it a quornfrontation?

What's the difference between an England batsman & a Formula 1 racing car?
Nothing!  If you blink you'll miss them both :(

On that silly note I'll love you & leave you

I did, Pen!  I must have been very good this year as Santa was very generous with his gifts!

Hope you had a lovely day.  We stayed up until the small hours after watching Love Actually ... again!

Well, back to yet more cooking for Boxing Day meal.  I have one vegan, one gluten free and two carnivores to cater for which is fun!!  >:D

We had a smashing day thanks Linda.  Happy to hear Santa did you proud :)
I love Love Actually. A favourite film - I've watched it umpteen times!  Sadly Zoe would rather poke herself in the eye with a blunt stick
Your catering arrangements sound a bit complicated ;D We're just finishing off yesterdays chicken. Cold with chips :-H Then Zoe will head home.
Have a great evening :)

which is your favourite song?

Friday, I'm In Love!!  What a joyous, wonderful song!

I'm going to look foolish if I've guessed the wrong band!  >:D

Definitely the right band, Linda. And that’s one great big smile of a song. I think that’s why I still listen to them - they do melancholy and joy equally well, and most things in between. Something for every mood.

Hi Pen,

Well, another Christmas over. We had a great day yesterday.  Good food, good beer and wine, great company.  The Coorparoo mob left this morning after breakfast and the boys had a frolic in the pool.  They are like little porpoises.  If the cricket wasn’t so interesting, I think a poppy nap would be in order.

One last reference:

I found the subject of my rebus in a list of 100 greatest novels of all time.

Picture 3.  Past tense.

And I’ll leave you with this:

Hi Jack

Pleased to hear you had a great Christmas :)  Zoe & I had a quiet & very enjoyable one. Like you lots of lovely grub & some good wine. We're both pleased it's over & done with.  I could enjoy a frolic in your pool right now   It's 6oc & bucketing down with rain & as for the cricket - better less said :(  Your lot are playing brilliantly but England are very below par :-R

I'm struggling with your rebus for the moment.  My rebus is an episode of mine & Linda's favourite series.

The first picture needs to be plural please & first name of gent.  Please lose the last letter of the last picture.

Hi Pen,

It rained most of yesterday and overnight, so it is not much different to how it is there except that it is 15oC warmer.

I thought I would get my post out of the way before lunch and settle down to watch the cricket this afternoon

The answer to today’s rebus is a useful tool.  There is a sting in the tail.  You have to derive the third word from its component parts.

#8    #4   11(#5  #3  #(6  5))

Conceptually one line.
Picture 4. Ditch the first letter.
Reminder:  #(x y) means the picture represents 2 words, one of x letters, one of y letters)

And I’ll leave you with this:

Hi Moyra,

By the time I had posted this morning and went to get a score it was all over.

I've got a new audiobook of Bruno, Chief of Police, short stories to read between poppy naps.  I am about halfway through and I can recommend it.

Hi Jack

I was going to say it was a pity it didn't rain in Melbourne but I doubt it would have helped, unless it rained for five solid days :'( A well deserved victory but the opposition was little better than Great Brickhill village cricket team :(

Anyway moving on to a more cheerful topic.  Your rebus was a real cracker - brilliant!  Very clever & rather devious.  Loved it :)  Always assuming I have the right answer

I've had a busy day - done a bit of shopping & cooked a couple of shepherds pies. I'll bung one in the freezer for Ron.  (later on!) Going to try & get a quick walk before the heavens open again & then gird my loins for work tomorrow.

My simple little rebus is something Eve & I enjoy eating at lunchtime when we go on holiday :-H

First picture is a homophone.  Second picture - how might you formally address this gent?

Right I'd better get out before it gets dark!
