G'day Jack

I'm back at work & it's shaping up to be a busy morning so I thought I'd make an early start on my post :)

I'm taking inspiration from your previous, very excellent rebus & offering up a couple of beverages >:D

The first picture is a homophone.  Please change the second letter of the third picture.

The first picture is from the Lost Gardens of Heligan in Cornwall.  I visited many moons ago - it's amazing.

Mr. Baldwin, the biology teacher called on Mary, "Can you tell me the part of the body that, under the right conditions, expands to six times it's normal size, and state the conditions."
Mary gasped and said in a huff, "Why, Mr. Baldwin! That is an inappropriate question and & I'm going to tell my parents when I get home!" She sat down, red-faced.
"Susan, can you tell me the answer?" asked Mr. Baldwin
"The pupil of the eye, under dark conditions," said Susan.
"Correct. Now Mary, I have three things to say to you. First, you have not revised for the lesson. Second, you have a dirty mind. And third, you are going to be very disappointed someday!"

Roll on lunchtime :-H

well deserved victory but the opposition was little better than Great Brickhill village cricket team :(

Hi Pen,

What goes around, comes around. Be patient and you’ll get your chance to crow.

Did you see that my namesake won the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race?

The rebus is a feature of Westminster systems of government.

And I’ll leave you with this:

Who’s idea was it to put up a wooden sign warning about the beaver?

I believe the sign says something like

“it is forbidden to enter the embankment!
Risk of falling into the water due to being undermined by beavers”

Hi Again Jack

I think it's going to be some time before I'll get the chance to crow :(

& very impressive it was too  ;)

The beaver sign made me laugh out loud - hilarious

I'll tackle your rebus in the morning.  I'm going to slump in front of the box :-Y

Hi Pen,

Great rebuses, Pen.

The rebus is another position and title.  This time, it applies only to England, although at one time the position and title were held by an Australian.

Back at you Jack - a couple of great rebuses & a very funny post :)  I especially like the dog that's not a Border Collie

I think I have your latest rebus but I didn't know this position was once held by an Australian.  I'm going to have to do a little homework on Ms Google.

I was a bit stumped for a puzzle today & I found this by accident.  The gumph says it's a relatively new expression coined by one of your former Prime Ministers.  Not sure how common it is sorry.

The third picture ignore the boy and it's a homophone; the seventh picture may look like a 'v' but it's actually the 13th letter; for the last picture, you want the actor's last name...

Notionally all on one line...

It does my head in - I mean, how would you know???

Hi John

My Mother would have said "Don't be sorry - mend your ways!"

I think I have an answer for your rebus but I'm not sure.  Struggling with the actor!  Going to have another look in the morning with a fresh pair of eyes.

Hope you had an enjoyable trip away :)

I did indeed; here is a sunset we witnessed while on Mt Buffalo in rural Victoria https://theforum.lexigame.com/index.php?topic=4474.msg72265#msg72265 - didn't have much time to dedicate to Chi (I was restricted to using my mobile phone) but did enjoy catching up with my son and getting out of the big smoke. 38°C (100°F) forecast for Melbourne today (NYE)...

That's a lovely picture John :). Just to put things into perspective it's 7.30am here & pitch black. It's about 7oc & hammering it down with rain. Oh & blowing a gale as well ;D  Probably wont bother with the car this morning - sure I've got a canoe somewhere  Still don't think I'd swap for 38oc though!

Hi Jack

No work for me now until Tuesday :)

I've had quite a busy morning.  I've got petrol & been to the supermarket & then popped up to Barbs' for a walk, a cuppa & a gossip!  Unfortunately it did start raining while we were out so we got a bit damp.

My rebus is also a film & one of it's female stars. - somewhat different to John's!  It was released in the 1940's.
