I got the following message from player sueflies:

Can I suggest the addition of the word pitot to your list: Pitot - measuring instrument consisting of a right-angled tube with an open end that is directed in opposition to the flow of a fluid and used to measure the velocity of fluid flow.  Its named after a French scientist but is in common usage, e.g. a pitot tube on an aircraft. Cheers, sueflies

Hi sueflies

Thanks for your suggestion of "pitot". It's quite valid - the word is in a number of dictionaries, and it's certainly in use, as you say.

I'll add "pitot" the next time I update the word list.
