Site to be Off the Air briefly

On Friday, the computer running this website is due to be upgraded. While the upgrade is occurring, the site will be unavailable. This will affect all the Lexigame Web pages, including Chihuahua, Letterbox, Ozlip and this forum.

The interruption to service is expected to last about 30 minutes, from around 11 a.m. GMT on Friday, 1 February (early Friday morning in the Americas, Friday evening in the Asia-Pacific area). So if you can't get on to the site around that time, don't panic! - just try again after half an hour or so. (And don't start typing a long forum post about that time - by the time you've finished, you may not be able to send it.)

Hopefully the upgrade will result in more reliable performance in the future. If you notice any problems on the sites after the upgrade, please let me know.

We have been forewarned ... luckily, it's in the middle of a workday here, so chances are, I'll miss the interruption anyway. Thanks for the efforts to keep the site running smoothly, gagl! O wise and caring administrator that you are and have always been!  ;D

Threeb, unless you've moved to England recently, the outage will be about 5 in the morning your time, by my calculations. I know you're often up and about by then, but if it's the middle of your work day, you must be on the night shift.

I can't take any credit for the fact that the system is being upgraded - that's being done by the Web hosting firm, but I certainly welcome it, given the occasional problems we've had due to server overload.

The  >:D is always in the details, Alan -- I failed to notice the GMT part, but -- as you said, I actually MIGHT be up at that time.

PS -- I might not mind moving to England, now that you mention it -- could hop about visiting all my new mates in the Isles!

I know -- surely, though, you cannot be talking about our mate, T!???  >:D Our southerners are a pretty funny bunch as well!  ;)

However, I'll probably need a bit of coaching on the local idioms and accents, which I'm sure y'all will be happy to provide.
