My father was one of those people who can never admit he was wrong.  One time he and my mother and aunt were on a trip, and he came out of the gas station restroom with a "holding back laughter" look on his face.  They asked him what was so amusing, and he told them that he'd had problems going to the toilet - he couldn't find the fly - he'd put his underpants on backwards that morning!  But then he went on to explain that it wasn't his fault - in some convoluted way it was my mother's fault because she had taken them out of the suitcase for him!

I guess he folded and packed them in such a way that when he put them on, he'd know their spatial orientation in relation to his torso ... or something like that?

As if my father would have ever packed a suitcase for himself!  His mind was on higher things - like the economy, or politics, or how the English language was degenerating, or how one of us kids was speaking ungrammatically...

I've heard of those "absent-minded professors" before ... I live with one. Rocket scientists who can't tie their shoes!  ;)

Common sense is not a gene often found in males...it is especially rare in men with brains bigger than peas...

My word is -

EXEGESIS

Just because I like it and because it appears in an episode of Inspector Morse!!  >:D

That was a favourite of my theology teacher, too.  ;)

How did it work into the plot, LL?

Sergeant Lewis has heard the term, 'an exegesis on Ancient Grimoire' ... and Morse is utterly amazed that he has uttered such a phrase!  Can't remember the whole plot butmy hubby would be able to tell you as he knows them practically off by heart!  Saddo!!  >:D

I guess it's better he do that than get into mischief, I suppose. At least he's got a brain!

Yes, I think there is one hidden in there somewhere!!   He's presently watching yet another programme on space exploration and if I see one more bloody programme on Roswell and aliens I will divorce him!!  >:D
