this one also appears in Webster in a general sense of the highest point... the Greeks seem to be figuring a lot today!

acral /0ˈakr(ə)l/ adjective. E20.
[ORIGIN formed as acro- + -al¹.]

Pertaining to a tip or apex; spec. (Medicine & Veterinary Medicine) affecting the extremities.

Thank you so much for that, Dave. I can now stun people with my knowledge that acral necrosis is a common symptom of bubonic plague......"The striking black discoloration of skin and tissue, primarily on the extremities, is commonly thought to have given rise to the name "Black Death"
Oh the things we learn thanks to Chi!

You mean you don't have deep discussions about the Black Death at the dinner table? What on earth do you find to talk about?

You cheeky bugger Dave...
I'll have you know, loads of people who have eaten my cooking have gone on to lead perfectly normal lives....

And you have cooked your goose now when it comes to the unrequited lust 'steaks'....
My rump and breast steaks are staying very firmly frozen and under wraps from now on....it will take some time for me to thaw out...

You tartare you!!

It seems acral is etymologically related to acronym (created from the tips of words) and acrobat (originally, walking on tip-toes).

As it's listed in a few general dictionaries, it qualifies for our purposes.
