To T .... if you didn't live in the soft South you would see a lot more snow, mate.  Not so much now, but in my childhood and youth we used to get masses of it ... several feet deep ... lovely!  I love the snow when it's all white and sparkly but am v. frightened (another phobia?) of walking on it when it's all slushy and when iit's just plain icy'
As you can probably imagine, I don't really do flat shoes!  Wear flip flops in the house but that's about it but I have got some Ugg flatties for plodding about in the snow but I am so short I feel like an elf in them!  A haggish elf, natch!  >:D

I am more than happy being a soft southy thank you....better than being a bitter twisted hard-faced northy...

I think i dislike it so much for the reasons you said. The walking on the slush and ice. Apart from the fact that you get cold feet, and wet ruined shoes, there is the possibility of slipping base over apex and making a complete twat of yourself, and people laughing at you...!!!

We do not really get much snow here.  The worst I have seen here is about 28 inches.

We had a bit more snow where I grew up.  When I took my driver's education class, we had drifting up to 12 feet.

That would be a good reason not to be there.

Oh, well.  I'm off to Tennessee for the next band gig.  Later!
Carpe digitus.
