Hmm... Not really convinced about that one, Viz. I could ask what everyone else thinks, but the audience here could be a bit biassed!

Sounds something like a loyalty program - should we issue Frequent Puzzler points that can be cashed in for points on the scoreboard?

I agree with Viz and T - NOOOO rosettes for unregistered players.
And I like the idea that registered players get a word or two advantage !!!!

Alan:
I'm torn. The idea of "frequent player miles" is kind of interesting, but I don't play enough other kinds of games to know how this works in the gaming world. I've seen a lot of websites - like those of talk show hosts -- which do have "insider" perks, although it usually requires a monetary support fee. In lieu of money, it might be nice that registered players get special recognition or rewards. However, there might be a way, however, to give everyone the chance to know about it, that you could indicate that on the front page where all players can see -- "bonus points" for members.

Cheers,
3-B

And Viz -- maybe you could make some wine out of those sour grapes!

For what it's worth, I think the game should stay as it is - does it really matter if some players wish to remain anonymous?  I really don't think it would be fair to give registered players an advantage - it would seem like 'cheating' to me!  No sour grapes here - only divine crushed grapes made into delicious, gluggable (good word, eh) wine!   :P

I have to confess I had my tongue in my cheek when I suggested a loyalty points scheme.

But anonsi's suggestion of giving the registered player a slight advantage in the order of players on the scoreboard could be worth considering.
