Hello, a non-amos
« on: August 15, 2007, 06:12:03 AM »
Poked around a little bit, discovered you are a fellow resident of the Old Dominion.  We stopped in Roanoke a couple of times while our daughter was at Tech, but they let her out about five years ago and we haven't been back.

In light of your interests, I hope you got the zymurgic word that was placed among the answers for the challenge puzzle yesterday -- just for you, no doubt.

By the way, a non-amos, I read earlier of your quest for Castlemaine XXXX.  I've never had one, but thought I'd ask at a local cafe that is known for its beer selection.  They didn't have it, but offered me a James Boag, instead.  Not too bad.

Will check out James Boag.  Thanks for the tip!

I found out that Castlemaine XXXX has no legal importers in the state of Virginia. :'(

Our state's Alchohol Beverage Control (ABC) board could mess up anything.

Gee, if your daughter's graduation had been in 2004 or later, you might have seen our band.  We play the main graduation ceremony, in Lane Stadium.

It turns out that our next performance is at the Jamestown settlement, which might be closer to your neck of the woods.

Missed you by a couple of years!  I'm afraid Jamestown is almost as far from us as Roanoke -- about four hours either way.

The James Boag is from Tasmania.  It almost tasted like it had honey in it, very smooth.

Are your bagpipes and drums tuned and ready? Can't remember what you said, but aren't you guys having a gig for St. Paddy's Day?

A, I'm pretty sure it wasn't you, but on the way to work this morning I saw a car that made me think of you ... It had a Hokies license plate that said ZMURGY.

RM, you know me all too well.

Unfortunately, I haven't played in Lane Stadium for a while.  I am slowly coming to believe this might not happen again.:(

Please do say hello to RF for me.  Best wishes to all!
