There was one common word I did not get in yesterday's 7 by many puzzle = rewashes. I did not even try it because 'rewash' came up as rare. I think this is an anomaly - I'm not fussed which way around but the 2 words need to have the same status, please Alan ...

Same here. I think someone similar happened a few months ago with supergrass (rare) and supergrasses (common!).

Currently we have rewash and rewashing as rare words, while rewashes and rewashed are common. Clearly they should all be the same.

Rewash and its inflections appear fairly frequently in newspapers and magazines. And in the puzzle that sparked this request around two thirds of players played rewash. So I'll make rewash and rewashing common.
