Oh it most certainly would.  Son is 18 this week and his main present is a beautiful white Fender Stratocaster .... gone are the days when he was happy with a few Power Ranger figures!  >:D

I have bought a delicious cake for his birthday!!  Got candles that spell out eighteen to put on it and helium balloon to embarrass him, a huge card plus a rather large cheque .... he's not really celebrating until the weekend when he can legally buy alcohol in a pub!!  >:D

Oooooh, envy, T!  Oz is one place I would LOVE to visit.  It's so big, though, and so far away, that I would want to stay a long time, and that makes it hard to share a vacation with someone who's still working.  But I'd love to go.  Unfortunately, someone else had the winning ticket in the latest megamillions lottery.

Wow! It cost £36 for the vet to tell you that? I'd be suspicious >:D

EEk, I change that to our monopoly money and it's around R500!  I hope he gets well soon.  It sounds a good title for a story  "The Cat Who Lost His Miaow"

Thanks, toni ... he does seem brighter but still a bit croaky!!  There was a lot of fur over the carpet this morning so he's either been fighting or has brought in a furry creature that I haven't found yet!!  Just so long as it's not a b**d!!  Vet bills are pretty horrendous but he was given an anti inflammatory injection and a long lasting antibiotic injection so I wasn't too surprised at the cost ... we've had heftier vet bills than that in the past!  >:D

I'm glad he's getting on well.  I looked into Medical Aid for pets. (here we don't have National Health, so most people belong to a Medical Aid) I found the pets' one was pretty expensive and each pet had to be on seperately, so for me it was way beyond possible.

It's the same way with pet health insurance here, Toni - very expensive and for each pet.  Not that many people have it.

If the cat is sounding croaky maybe he swallowed a frog?  :-R

That depends, T.  Are the sounds he's making similar to "Ribet! ribet!"?
