Something no one here wants ...
« on: February 05, 2023, 09:56:01 PM »
... but which I now have.

Shingles.

My face looks as if it's been struck by mortar shrapnel, and I feel like I've been run over by a freight train.

Do whatever you can to avoid this. It's utter torture.

You have my heartful sympathy. Shingles is bloody awful. My best friend had it a few years ago & it knocked her for six.
Get well soon.

Yes, been there, done that. Empathy and commiseration coming your way.

Cal, I am so very sorry you are going through such a horrible outbreak. The treatments, for some, mitigate the pain a bit. My husband also had a horrendous time with it  on his back & side. It was agonizing. He got some relief by spraying lidocaine on the affected area. Maybe there is some numbing agent that can be used on your face.

Sincere best wishes for a complete recovery SOON,

Paula

My mother ended up in hospital with this and I feel so badly for you - it’s a very painful and all-consuming affliction. I’ve made an appointment to get a shot for this next week. Take care xx
