Tuesday 13 September 7-by-many AGITPROP puzzle
« on: September 14, 2022, 07:21:18 PM »
IRRIGATOR – VERY surprised that this wasn’t common – possible re-classification to common to balance...
AGITPROP - srsly!!! Common‽‽‽

FWIW and it may not be worth much, I had every uncommon word that scored fewer hits than agitprop!!!

The greenest watt ever produced is the one you never use. Playing as jk1956 & John is my name.
When we come out of the Covid-19 crisis, we need to make sure recovery efforts address the Climate Crisis (which can't be solved using social distancing!)

I eventually found AGITPROP but even with an interest in these things, I wouldn’t call it a common word.

I'll accept that agitprop isn't quite a common word, though I think it's not as uncommon as people might imagine. It's often used these days by right-wing writers as a derogatory term, as in this Theatre review from the Times (UK) in April this year:

Quote
Far from being innovative, it serves up a tired blend of Afro-mysticism, bland songs and agitprop.

The Spectator seems to be particularly fond of the word. I'll change it to rare status and remove it as a seed for 7-by-many puzzles, so very likely we'll never see it again.
