Hi Pen, Paula, Madeleine, John, Rose, Alan and Carol,

Thanks for the good wishes.  I had one of the best birthdays ever.  Apart from other presents, my daughter and son-in-law put on a 5-hour banquet which was as good as you could get in any restaurant.  I am pretty tired.  I will post more details and photos tomorrow.

Sorry these wishes are belated...I have a valid excuse/reason! We're away for a "not as elaborate as yours" birthday weekend. Our middle son turns 43 today. We're camping on the Darling Downs and it was cold last night, beautiful today. No cheesecake for dessert tonight....Caramel Dumplings (Women's Weekly recipe book from about 1972).
