I agree with what you say Michael.
As you can see with the UK particularly with BoJo, and to a lesser extent (perhaps) Queen Nicola in Scotland, there is no accountability for the PM or 1st Minister. They do what they want, flout laws they make and all we get is a mealy mouthed apology and they just carry on.

Hi Michael,

It was only idle curiosity on my part, so don’t go to any trouble.I wasn’t arguing the  point. I was just trying to understand why the Department would react that way.

Howdy Jack

You should have an email.
I included a brief selection of info, but still a bit lengthy.

I hope you find time to read it one day, perhaps on a rainy day.

Cheers
Michael

Hi Michael

I had a look at the correspondence you sent me and it looks like you got a raw deal from the public servants who were at that stage reporting to a Coalition Government.

As you suggested, there is no point in going any further.

I have my own little Segway story.  A couple of years ago, my son-in-law’s 88YO father was talked into using a Segway to go with the family around Lake Burley Griffin.  Not only did he master it immediately, but he enjoyed himself immensely.

I admire the efforts you made to promote this excellent product.
Regards, Jack

Hi Jack.

Thanks for your kind words.

As they say, every dark cloud has a silver lining.
That Segway Tour operator in Canberra is/was a customer of mine.

The short story is; the bane of Segway is their battery system.
Unless very well looked after, batteries will fail, and factory guidance was to replace the batteries ( at a cost of then about $3,000 a set ).

One day I received a call from that Canberra operator.
Several batteries failed on the one day.

Coincidences are very rare, in my experience.
There had to be a reason.
We discussed it, discovered the problem, and using my electronics background I developed a solution.

Since then, we have manufactured and sold over a hundred units across the globe.

Kind regards
Michael
