I agree that
tritium is quite a technical term, known to some of us science nerds, but unknown to many others. If fusion power ever becomes a reality,
tritium and
deuterium may become more widely known - but then again maybe not. More to the point, I've been reading about the possibility of fusion power for 50 or 60 years, and it always seems to be at least 30 years away from viability. For example, this from the opening paragraph of
an article published a couple of days ago: "...the stark reality is that practical fusion-based electric power remains a distant prospect. It is likely unachievable anytime in the next half a century."
Both
tritium and
deuterium will be treated as rare words from now on.
