Thanks Jacki.  It's a sweltering Christmas over here in Perth.  Currently 42 degrees Celsius (108 Fahrenheit).  And even hotter tomorrow!

Indeed Jacki, I hope all forumites can spend a lovely festive season with loved ones (and the odd challenge of Chi...) - here's to a grand 2022!!!

It's 5oc here in Bletchley & very grey & dreary. Not sure I'd swap for that extreme heat though!

Weirdly enough, even though we're supposed to be in the depths of winter here in the UK, we've just had unseasonally mild temperatures. Reached 13°C where I live today, and New Year's Day is forecast to hit a high of 16°C in my locality ... which means I'm now scheduled to go moth trapping on New Year's Day!

Usually, we expect to see daytime temperatures hover around 2°C or less, not 16°C ...

The thought of 42°C during Christmas would probably have people here prolapsing in terror ...

It's very strange this unseasonal weather Calilasseia.  I'm not sure where you are but here in Milton Keynes my car said 15oc when I was driving home :o

I would be prolapsed in terror at the thought of 42oc at any time of the year   My friend & I rather stupidly visited Lake Garda in July a few years ago.  The temperatures were hovering around 40oc almost every day.  We visited Juliet's balcony in Verona & spent the rest of the afternoon in various shops which had aircon.  Your ice cream melted before you even had a lick!

We're not much good at coping with extremely hot weather.  Don't think we're designed for it

The memories!  Driving a few hundred kms to visit the balcony of a fictional character!

It's only 38C here in Melbourne today.

In the Chicago area, we set a record for the latest first snowfall of the season (28 December), 40 days later than the average. It has been years since we had a white Christmas. Tomorrow, we are supposed to celebrate the new year with six inches or more of snow, winds blowing 30 mph, and temps dropping to -3°F / -19°C.

I guess winter has finally arrived.

I can't decide which is worse! Roasting at 42oc or freezing at -19oc.  Suddenly I feel quite lucky ;D

Roasting at 42°C is definitely worse. One can always add more layers of clothing.  ;D
Stripped naked, one is still being roasted!  :P
