That you go to bed.  You should know that I've always been a goddess in all aspects.  >:D

No kidding!  You're right.  Sounds like some of the planes were sliding right off the runway!  I don't think I'd be too happy if I were on one of those planes.  Sounds like the hooley might've calmed down outside (I don't hear any freezing rain hitting the windows, at any rate).

Our temps here have been just soso -- by this afternoon, they've predicted up near 80, with highs in the next few days at 70, 79 and 66. Nighttime temps to fluctuate at 40, 35, 43, and 52.

There have been some Christmases that had ice storms and snow, and others, where it's been as high as 85! You just never know. Not as predictable as what you get in the higher latitudes. It's hard to know what to wear half the time, cause some days, the morning is mild, and by late afternoon, a nasty blue norther comes flying down.

We're getting snow in NYC now (Sunday a.m.) - not going to be much accumulation, but I hear the snowplow going by - for what reason I don't know, since there is no snow at all in the middle of the street where there's traffic.  It's supposed to change to a "wintry mix" later and then to all rain - maybe an inch - by tonight, so all this white will be just a memory by tomorrow, I guess.

It's no fun when everything just turns to slush ... esp. when diesel vehicles turn what's left black. Yucky!

I remember those nights, though, when as a kid, I'd look out with my face pressed to the window, and see the gentle snow falling and the street lights illuminating the scene ... like a picture postcard. Sometimes I'd open the front door to the house and stand there for a minute, breathless, until the cold would drive me back indoors.

It's such a pity that you get so much cold and nasty weather, but so little snow, T! All the hassle and none of the reward...even in some parts of the desert and in Texas, we'll still snow, at least occasionally.

I ventured out on the icy roads today in the incredibly high winds....It was cold.  And not fun.  Believe me, you don't wish you lived where it snowed all the time.  (Not that it snows all the time here, but it definitely snows more than I'd like.

We've gotten into, and seen, numerous times the treacherous conditions on icy roads, believe me. Why do you think we moved from New York??

Nothin' ridiculous about Texas, dear! Tons of fun, great history, fascinating "characters" and the wide open spaces! Mostly those who say bad things about it are just jealous!  >:D
