hotbox / hotboxes

Another oddity whilst playing a 7-by-many Your Puzzles: hotbox is rare; hotboxes is common and the seed word. I almost didn't play the latter when the former came up as rare. IMO they ought to be the same.

Some dictionaries have only one meaning for hotbox: an overheated railway bearing. Other dictionaries have additional meanings. But whatever the meaning, it's an infrequently used word, so I concur with TRex's suggestion that the discrepancy is best resolved by making hotboxes rare, like the singular form.

My mind went from Bain Marie, to Mini Minor (or Suzuki) without air conditioning and on to small green house!  Does anyone else want to weigh in as to definition?
