The most rosettes in a 7-by-many puzzle was the DEDUCIBLE puzzle on 14 May 2021. That got 60 rosettes - a hard record to beat I suspect.

Well this game has quickly brought us all back to earth with just 13 rosettes.
No problem though for mkenuk, dragonman & doxydaisy.
Dox, you may have been the last to get there but the positive side effect was all of the rare words that you found to post that impressive score on the open scoreboard so good on you for persevering to find that last common word.

OTIOSE, TESTIS (doh), VELVET (double doh) and VIOLIST (a term I hadn't heard but stands to reason as I have heard of a violinist)

I'd be interested to hear what words tripped up others who came close...

Congrats to the select few who managed a rosette!
The greenest watt ever produced is the one you never use. Playing as jk1956 & John is my name.
When we come out of the Covid-19 crisis, we need to make sure recovery efforts address the Climate Crisis (which can't be solved using social distancing!)

Stillest, Violist and Toilette.

Wo ist bitte die toilette, I have used many times, sometimes with a desperate need. >:D

I didn't come close so i have a rather long list, several of which come under the " i was sure that i played that " category.
My only excuse is the distraction of the Saturday races.
Jacki & Dox would probably suggest that i should spend a little less time playing chi & invest a lot more time studying the form in order to provide a decent winning tip.
Anyway, i missed otiose, soloist, toilette, vetoes, violist & votive.

Like Les, I was six short. Different words though: islet, sties, soviet, svelte, velvet and visit.

We should have teamed up! ;D

Unloose and unloosen. I have to admit that I had never seen it before.  Apparently it means the same as loosen although on the face of it, it looks like it means the opposite, I.e. tighten!

Like flammable and inflammable,
I've had some fun over the years persuading some of my students that these words are not opposites but synonyms.

On the other hand, untighten means loosen and not tighten.

The English language eh?

The only word I missed in the BLUENOSE/NEBULOUS game was unseen.

Irony does not begin to describe it.

Irony's a bitch...  ;) ;) ;)

I missed some obvious ones: BLUENOSE, BOSON, NONSENSE, UNLOOSE and UNLOOSEN - not a great day for me...  :-R :-R :-R

I'm surprised you describe bluenose as 'obvious'.
The COD describes it as 'informal' (in United States - a priggish or puritanical person'.
It was the least played word in the game - 82 hits from 340 players, just over 20%. That is very low for a 'seedword'
I played it. knowing it from my time in Scotland used by Catholics as a term of abuse for Protestants. I was quite surprised it was 'common'
Also, it was the name of one of the horses that Robert Shaw was persuaded to bet on in 'The Sting' another of my all-time favourite films;
