Fatwa was the least found "common" word (50 of 329).

My other 2 missed were effort and arrowroot.

LES is more!!!
The greenest watt ever produced is the one you never use. Playing as jk1956 & John is my name.
When we come out of the Covid-19 crisis, we need to make sure recovery efforts address the Climate Crisis (which can't be solved using social distancing!)

Thanks mate, it has been a long time coming.
The fun thing for me in today's game was the way that you, Rose, Stan & myself all raced to that score of 22, then a long tense pause before Rose was the first to push through for the rosette.
I am very confident HJ,  that if you persist a little, you will also pick up a rosette in this game.

And thanks RTT, your clever post gave me a big smile.

Wow Les.. go you good thing! You finally got a rosette and now I'm shouting from the rooftops. Well done! I'm in the middle of moving and didn't finish the last game so hence my dismal score. And commiserations Mike for ending your run of rosettes. I'm sure you can start another one!

Fatwa for me. I agree that it's commonness should be the same as glasnost as both had only a brief historic prominence. Instead of the common situation where location can define whether a word should be common, here it is age.

fatwa cost me a rosette yesterday, but I did make it to maven, so not all bad. I can't remember fatwa coming in a game before, but I think it is rightly classed as 'common'.

Cheers Les for the encouragement.  I was quick out of the trap but hit a wall right on the line. I got there in the end though.

For what it's worth, I missed "aerator" and errata" yesterday.  I got "fatwa" but I'm not convinced it is really common!

Missing aerator annoyed me the most as i was sure that it should be a valid word but i tried to spell it as aerater.... idiot!
I used to make the same mistake with orate, spelling it as orater instead of orator.
What a wonderfully enjoyable learning tool this game is.

I wonder the number of rosettes in today's game (and there may be more to come) is a 7-by-many record?

I counted 39 rosettes, no idea if that would be a record, Alan may be able to answer that question for you, Rose.
I have said before that i do not think that there are any easy games in chi.
While yesterday's game contained mostly " easy " words, you still have to find them & you only have to scroll through the scoreboard to see that a number of very capable players (a few of them club members ) were unable to find rosettes.

Funny game yesterday: a veritable plethora of onomatopoeias!

Today's seems trickier though.....

I think the highest number of rosettes came in the beefsteak standard game a few years ago
(225 rosettes that day)
