matey!!
That's what I missed.
I wouldn't care - last night, I watched an old episode of 'Endeavour'.
I heard Jim Strange refer to Morse as 'Matey' at least six times in the course of the episude!!

Grr and Double grrrr!

Oh well.

I really hate it when the word you miss is an easy one. Is matey common? Must be, oh well it was glorious to watch Mike. And you have set a new benchmark for everyone to aspire to - well done!

Also annoyed with myself because I ignored my own rule - always look for anagrams!
I'd already played 'meaty'!!

And he’s off!

Matey was the one that got away from me too. So I am consoled - well, if Mike didn’t get it … Realise that doesn’t help you!

Congratulations, Les, on your stonking performance yesterday - silver medal!

Rosettes were particularly hard to come by in this game so mkenuk, dragonman & doxydaisy all deserve a hearty round of applause & dragonman can take a bow as the only one to also pick up a maven.
Commiserations to yelnats, jancsika, roddles, maudland & ozzyjune who all came so agonisingly close.

Just 22 more to go for Mike to break his personal best.

I missed fierier ( is that even a real word ? ), iffier & raffia.

I missed "firearm". Where's the second amendment when you need it?

Fortunately we don't need it in Oz.

I too missed FIERIER as well as ROOMIER - so close yet still so far. That second rosette ever in the 7bm is difficult for me...

@Les - second top again; ...and another maven score

I do hope your hitrate has suffered appropriately!  ;) ;) ;)

I have not been so desperate in this game as i still have 3 common words to find so my hit rate has not suffered as much.

The only word I missed yesterday was fatwa. I am, of course, familiar with the word and its meaning (made famous by the fatwa against Salman Rushdie) but, as with glasnost, was not expecting to find in this context a word adopted into English so relatively recently from a foreign language.

Well done in winning today's little "race" to the rosette, just in front of Stan.

Yesterday, i missed aerator ( doh ), effete & fatwa
