Tough game yesterday, I was 7 off the mark.

Hard on us Brits too, with (to us) "common" words "snogging", "pooing", "dossing" and "ponging" all being marked as "rare"!

Ah... so you are another bloody pom but are you an Australian pommy these days?
Either way, would love to know where you are located.
While i'm at it, i might as well invade your privacy even further & ask you to share your name & gender & anything else that you feel comfortable telling us about yourself.

I played all of the words that you mentioned, all common to me.

I missed DOGGO and SINGSONG...

Singsong I can almost allow (though I'd probably hyphenate it) but DOGGO being common - it's internet slang for goodness sake!

Here's a "word game" for you Les. My username should be able to tell you my real name, my gender and where I live!

I'm guessing the name is Jan, so probably female.

Her local time is the same as AEST, so probably QLD, NSW, VIC or TAS.

Beyond that, I'm stumped too.

OK, I will take a guess.

Jancsi is Hungarian for John / Johnnie.
'ka' is a either a diminutive form or perhaps a feminine form.

Anywhere close ??

My gut tells me that he is a male ( possibly named John or Jack ) who migrated from England in the late fifties.
After a long & successful career working in the public service in Melbourne, he is now happily retired on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland where he & his wife tend to their small macadamia nut farm.

Congratulations to all of those players who managed to score mavens and or collect rosettes in what i thought was a very difficult game.
John must get a special mention for picking up his first rosette & also Rose for being the quickest (of our little group) to her rosette.

Thanks Les - I was very pleased to lose my 7-by-many cherry (I hope that doesn't offend anyone - apologies if it does) - it's been a long time coming...

On a less serious note, I tried VIAGRA but it was “not known”   :-R
…and who else tried VIRII?

" I was very pleased to lose my 7BM cherry "
" I tried viagra but it was " not known ".

Seems to be a bit of a theme there, John? >:D

As you can see, i've long given up on being too concerned about offending anyone although it is never my intention to do so.

Alan monitors all of the threads & will quickly step in to delete any outrageously inappropriate post & take any necessary action against the author but to my knowledge, he has never had to intervene other than to offer a reminder to a couple of protagonists to calm down & " play nice ".

I've never heard of virii.

I wonder how long Jancsika will keep us in suspense before revealing all?

I realised after posting that that some of you would take it the wrong way - the top of my list was you, Les...

A lot of people (me included) think the plural of virus may be virii and, of course, they're wrong!  :-P
