Amongst the words I missed was minibus...even though I had minibuses and minibuses.

That is so funny - that’s the truly frustrating thing about Chi - it’s always the easy ones!! I have soar and angst and euro and rest and quite a few others emblazoned in my head!! But I think our mind just says “minibus,” races onto minibuses etc and we forget the original thought or we think we already have it.

I don't feel so bad about not getting BENUMB, BIENNIUM and NUBBIN. On the other hand, my failure to find the other word did leave me somewhat bemused.

After a drought of rosettes I managed a rosette and a Marven, one of many to get them both.
Doxydaisy is shaping up to be the new Mike, keep on trucking.

Congrats on the rosette, Dragonman!

I missed only busbies, a word I always miss and probably will always continue to miss. It's just not part of my vocabulary, so not on my radar. I have to look it up every time, although by now I'm starting to vaguely recall that it is a sort of military headgear. In Mike's absence, I suppose I should declare that it is too "British" and award myself an honorary rosette ;-)

BUSBIES did it for me too - and off the top of my head, I can’t think of an excuse (especially as I’m British).
(Especially for you, RTT.)
And BIENNIUM. Um.

Jancsika, doxydaisy, blackrockrose, Roddles and auntiemo all achieved the requisite 34 common words to be awarded a rosette – congratulations, one and all; still no sign of one for me… ☹

yelnats made a welcome return to the fold with a creditable 1 off the pace as did Maudland – close but no cigar!  ;)

Binkie, rogue_mother and Alan missed by 2 (I’m presuming the Alan in question is our illustrious benefactor – the creator of the Chi puzzles)

Dragonman came in at 30 words, 4 words outstanding whilst I came in at 6 off the pace; it looks like I’m going backwards!!! Don’t ask me what words; I’d be embarrassed to admit what they were…  :-P :-P :-P

Yesterday was a bit of a personal best for me, timewise at least, as I got my rosette before I'd downed my first cup of coffee, and I don't recall that ever happened before.

I also just missed out on my "perfect" score (rosette, no mistakes, no rare words). Only "fakest" (rare) let me down!

I had teste but not testes. I really do hate our Roman legacy esp. where we have months which are two out from the numbers just because of an insurrection in Spain. And how they ever multiplied or divided is imponderable

Well done, you rosette-getters. Definitely a headslapper for me; I missed abase and sasses. Doh!
