Word count vs. Scoreboard

In 7 by many game 8 March 2024 the scoreboard is showing 2 words more than my count. A visual count shows the count correct and the scoreboard incorrect.

How is this so?

We had a similar incident last year - see this thread. A quick way to verify that something's not quite right is to note that not all the players with rosettes have the same number of common words, according to the scoreboard. There seem to be 26 players with slightly inflated scores on the scoreboard. As far as I can see only the lexigame site is affected. The scores shown on https://www.chihuahua-puzzle.com/ seem to be all correct.

I never worked out exactly what the problem was last time, but I was able to repair the incorrect scores after the puzzle closed. I'll do that again, and hopefully work out how to prevent similar glitches from reoccurring.

I just had a thought that it may have been because I played a word I had already played and tried that again. My score and word count are now the same  - and correct!

The scoreboard has flattered me into believing I had a rosette. If only it were so!

I noticed that some players managed to get a rosette, but no gold star. This can only mean one of two things:

A) there's been a rip in the fabric of space-time
B) there's a glitch in the software....
