19th June 7-by-many CHECKROOM puzzle

CHECKROOM common, really??? CLOAKROOM is common, CHECKROOM not so much!!! I hazard the guess that this term is largely unknown outside the US.

I got it but only because I try words that might work even though I don't think them probable...

Totally agree with ridethetalk.

The word is in neither COD nor Chambers. Even wikipedia directs you to cloakroom and 'wiktionary' shows it to be 'US'
I found it by luck; I felt it had to be a compound and finally, trial and error paid off.

Still, it's another entry on my 'Words common in Chi that I have never heard of' list.

After I guessed it in desperation I looked it up to see what it meaning and it said US.

I'm also finding a lot of latin american Spanish words are accepted now e.g. cholo/a which I find disconcerting.

From what I can see, checkroom is fairly uncommon in the US these days, but in any case it's not used elsewhere so it will be made rare.
