Dear Forumites:
Four years ago, I was trembling in horror at the result of the US Presidential election.
Today, I am relieved at the result.
However, an element of horror remains: this election was close, close, close, and that means there are millions of Americans who voted for our former president. What an ominous disgrace.
The Senate will most likely remain in Republican hands, which will make progress nearly impossible. Robert (my better half) and I spent hours and hours and hundreds of dollars working to 'flip the Senate' back into Democratic hands. Some success occurred, but, unless there's a miracle in Georgia, we're still stuck with Mitch McConnell running the show there.
I hear you, Chi-folk all over the world: what happens here affects everyone on every continent. Trust me: we'll keep working for a saner country that can engage internationally in a way that can help us feel like citizens of the world again.
Wish us good fortune, we'll need it!
and the very best wishes to you all,
nineoaks
