BACKHOE in yesterday's BLOCKHEAD challenge game

I was surprised to find BACKHOE was not a common word, especially given when I pressed on the word it gave its origins as "chiefly US, Canada and Australia".

Surely you mean you were surprised until you saw it was chiefly US, Canada and Australia?

Backhoe was classed as common at one stage, but I changed it after mkenuk queried it.

Most dictionaries seem to have backhoe as a noun only, but the online Collins English Dictionary and Wiktionary both acknowledge it as a verb also.

Examples of the word in use are fairly hard to find, but there are a few. For completeness I'll add backhoeing as well.
