The challenge TECHNOCRAT game

I got every common word -73 of them - before I got the main word - TECHNOCRAT - which at word 72 I thought I had solved by going "Aha!" and entering TRENCHCOAT. Word not accepted.  What? I tried it again, thought I must have entered it incorrectly. Not known. Turns out it's two words.
I would have bet every dollar I had on that being the word. Live and learn every day. As for technocrat, I'm  certainly not one if I haven't heard of it before!

The second word I played - after trench - and I do admit to being slightly miffed when it got 'sorry, not known'.

A later check showed, however, that although Wiktionary does, indeed, give it as one word, (an alternative spelling (?) of trench coat) other, more reliable, dictionaries show it as two.
