word suggestion: rehid

Past tense of rehide, and if you have a memory like mine, there are a lot of things I rehid that may remain rehidden forever.

At present our word list doesn't contain rehide, rehid, rehiding or rehidden.

The concept of hiding something again seems not to be written about very much, and when it is, the hyphenated forms re-hide, etc, are more likely to be used. I couldn't find rehide and its inflections in any dictionary other than Wiktionary. I couldn't find examples of any of these words being used by good writers. Rehidden was used once in The Da Vinci Code.

Birdy, if you are rehiding things, your memory must at least be good enough for you to remember where you hid them originally.

I'm not convinced these words should be added to our lexicon.

Alan, one reason I have to rehide things is that the person/animal I've hidden them from in the first place has managed to find them.  Christmas presents can be a challenge! And, unfortunately, hiding things that the very young or sometimes the very old really shouldn't have access to.
