Lexigame maintenance
« on: April 10, 2019, 12:16:29 PM »
Over the next few days the chi.lexigame.com and letterbox.lexigame.com sites will be moving to a new web hosting service. Ideally this will not cause any interruptions to service or visible changes. However, there could be some unexpected issues, so please feel free to let me know of anything out of the ordinary. In particular the sites may not be available at first via the "https:" addresses, and this may cause some security warnings to be displayed by your browser.

If there are any serious problems you can always get to Chihuahua at chihuahua-puzzle.com.

Hi Alan
I had a security warning when I tried to sign in at work this afternoon.  I just put it down to our computers at work & pressed to proceed anyway. (away from safety I think it said) I'm a bit of a technophobe so perhaps I shouldn't have done that!  I didn't have anybody from our IT department after me so presumably there were no repercussions.  Penny

Hi Penny. Those warnings were appearing for a while, but they were just a by-product of the work in progress - there was nothing to really worry about. (Some of those warning messages are a bit alarmist in my opinion. Boy who cried wolf sort of thing.)

The site is now up and running in its new home, but it might take another day or so till everybody is using it there. So far it seems to be running quite speedily, but we'll have to wait to see how it performs under maximum load. Importantly, the new site location should be free of bitninja annoyances.
