New shuffling features
« on: March 17, 2019, 03:35:58 PM »
Following up on a suggestion made by markm in another topic, There is a new button, labeled "Mix", to allow the letters of a puzzle to be randomly rearranged, except for the mandatory letter, which remains in the middle. The button is under the recently-introduced backspace button, towards the bottom left of the board:

Also, in 7-by-many puzzles, the Shuffle button now functions as it does in other puzzle types. If any letters have been played, all those letters are shuffled.

I love it too. You know what would be extra helpful is if you could play a couple of letters, say ING for arguments sake, and they are on the board and the remaining letters can be mixed. I tried it today with a couple of letters however when I pressed mix they went back down to the fold. If that can't be done it's still an added bonus. Thank you.

Jacki, what I often do is play all the letters other than I, N, G and use the Shuffle button to mix them up.

Cool! Is there a keyboard command for Mix?

Not really. Something on the right would be nice since most other commands are over there. Perhaps 8, so it's not too close to 0, for example.

OK. The 8 key now runs the Mix function.
