One of the more traditional carols at this time of the year is 'We wish you a merry Christmas' (and a happy New Year).
There are several versions of this, but all of them, in a later verse, include lines such as:

'Oh bring us a figgy pudding (x3)
 And bring it right here'.

An alternative fourth line is 'And a cup of good cheer.'
(Well, if you don't ask, you don't get, right?)

Seems that Chi has never heard the carol, because in the gratifying game figgy got 'sorry not known'.

You beat me to it. I made and forgot a mental note to raise this.

A Google search gave me pages and pages of figgy references.

I wondered whether it wasn't allowed because although one might well say something tasted too figgy - and it can be overpowering if you don't like figs - its main use would be in describing the pudding. Like toing and froing not being allowed although they're in fairly common use, because of the limited context they're used in. Or because figgy pudding is mainly a dish not made outside Britain (perhaps it isn't, I don't know).
