'North American - a musical gathering or concert' (COD)
Chambers doesn't list the word.

It would seem to be derived from a French collocation 'soiree musicale'; it sounds the sort of word one might find in an Edith Wharton or Henry James novel;
 is it really common?
Surprisingly perhaps it wasn't the least-played word in the masculine /calumnies game;
 that honour fell to the perfect word  for talking about the current state of UK politics - lunacies

I don't think I would have thought of musicale even if I had another day or two. It was the only common word I missed. Another chihuahua lesson learnt!

Not sure I agree with you there, TRex. At least you’re only stuck with your particular mad man for a maximum of 8 years. What our politicians are doing to our country will affect us for years, maybe decades, to come. I think tpc is right - it’s perfidy.
