A phenomenon arising from the game ...
« on: September 18, 2018, 12:32:59 PM »

I wonder if anyone else here, has found themselves in the position of playing either the Standard or Challenge game, finding themselves with, say, a five-letter word they've just entered, only to notice that the remaining four letters also form a word, and that the two resulting words put together elicit a smile, or even laughter?

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one here to have had moments of off the wall humour arising from such occurrences ... :)

Yes Calilasseia, but I would add to your premise.

I enjoy playing with my lovely bride.  I am usually at the keyboard, and every now and then I zip out an amusing compound word that would never be in any dictionary (just for the humor value).

This is sometimes a major clue in getting the 9-letter word.  There is much value in just playing around with words.
Carpe digitus.
