bolus (c) / boluses (r)

re the doubtless Challenge game.

bolus - 'common', boluses - 'rare'

Isn't it slightly inconsistent that a noun and its regular plural should be classified differently?

In the same game, lotus and lotuses - were both classed as common

Irregular plurals are a different matter - (loti an alternative plural, for example is 'rare' in Chi), but I feel that regularly formed plurals  - and regularly formed inflected verb forms - should have the same classification as their root.

I agree. I was surprised when boluses was marked as rare if the same the logic follows as lotuses or buses.

Interesting also that buses and lotuses were the two least-played common words in that game.

Of the 116 who played lotus just under half (57) played lotuses.

I wonder if that might suggest that some Chi players don't realise that certain plural forms are allowed in the game?
