Your rebus satisfied my criteria but we had that poem to study at school, so I didn't have to look it up.

It was overcaste here but the pool was still 28^oC, so I got my swim in.

I'll change the subject to a trilogy of novels from around WWII that was used as a much later TV series, although I had not heard of it.  It must be English, probably set in your neck of the woods.

I very much enjoyed your rebus    You are spot on!  It's set very near here.  The wonderful Victoria Wood, sadly no longer with us, did a great spoof of it.  I'll post a small snippet in a day or two when others have had a chance to solve the rebus.

I got your excellent rebus at the third time of asking.  I'm obviously a bit more awake now than I was at 6.30am     It does sound interesting.

It took me a few attempts.  I vaguely remembered the quote but couldn't recall it correctly!  I had to get my pen and paper out but got there in the end

Either you are deliberately trying to pull my leg, as you enjoy doing, or you totally misread my message.  You were being complimented for presenting an interesting and not widely known quote.

The fifteen minute standard is not a fixed rule and it was not meant to apply to me.  There are a number of very good rebus solvers that follow you and they should be the ones on which you set your standards on.  If you dumb down your puzzles so that I can get it in fifteen minutes, you will make it less interesting for them.
