Hi Jack

Enjoying a lovely lazy Sunday.  It's a beautiful day and I've been for a constitutional

I agree with Moyra and Carol.  It was great to get an update and picture of Dusty and good to know he's happily settled in his new home  :)

My rebus is a film from the 1970's.

10 (#2 + #3 + #5) #3

Please use the middle two letters of the gent (I use that term loosely ) in picture one and lose the second letter of picture two.  Past tense of picture four and reverse it.  One homophone and please pretend it's all on one line.

Must be time for tea!

Hi Moyra, Carol, and Pen,

I appreciated the comments on Dusty.

My cheeky rebus is a tagline from a movie I think you may be familiar with.

Conceptionally one line.  Position essential.
The I the of
Pictures 3+4.  Make homophone.
Picture 5.  Present participle (8). Make Homophone.

I must go and entertain the visitor I picked up at the airport at lunchtime.

Hi Jack

That rebus was cheeky and sneaky  but very clever with it!  Took me a few tries before the penny dropped!

My rebus is an expression I used to my neighbour this morning.

Please use the surname of gent in picture two and change the fourth letter.  Discard four letters from picture three and keep three consecutive ones. Please pretend it's all on one line.

This tickled me but not as much as the spaniel!
Chariots!

Have you been entertaining Andrew with your madrigals?  >:D

I'm off to contemplate work tomorrow  :(

Hi Jack

Having a funny old morning. Quiet for a little while and then the bus pulls up outside and they all come rushing in at once

I'm going to start a rebus and, hopefully, finish by lunchtime!  It's a film from the 1970's starring an actor who is all over the papers here today.

5 (#3 + #2)  9 (#4 + #5)

Please change the first letter of picture three.  You need the surname of the 18th century author in picture four and lose the last three letters.  One homophone and please pretend it's all on one line.

If you need any help with the author then here's a small clue...

A 6 year old girl went to the office with her father on 'Take Your Child to Work Day'.
As they walked round the office she started crying and getting upset.
Her father asked what was wrong.
As the staff gathered round she sobbed loudly, "Daddy, where are all the clowns you said you work with?"

Finished with time to spare  ;D

One more very important thing...

Have a smashing birthday - hope I'm not too late.  I always forget the time difference.

Hi Pen,

I think I have the answer to your rebus. I can't see the relationship between the author and Tom Jones and grumpy cat, but I identified it by other means. >:D.

So I'll just tell you a story.

An 80-year-old man, in a cheerful disposition, is having his annual check-up. Glad to see his patient in a happy mood, the doctor asks him how he’s feeling.

I’ve never been better!” he replies. “I’ve got an 18-year-old bride who’s pregnant and having my child! What do you think about that?

The doctor considers this for a moment, then says: “Well, let me tell you a story. I know a guy who’s an avid hunter. He never misses a season.

"But one day he’s in a bit of a hurry and he accidentally grabs his umbrella instead of his gun. So, he’s in the woods, and suddenly a grizzly bear appears in front of him! He raises up his umbrella, points it at the bear, and squeezes the handle. The bear drops dead in front of him.”

The man frowns and replies: “That’s impossible! Someone else must have shot that bear.

My Point, exactly,” the doctor nods.

It's been a long day and it's way past my bedtime, so I will get back to you tomorrow.
