It does fit the answer I got but that wasn't the word that was troubling me.  It was the fact that the first word wasn't plural.

Try googling your idiom.

I slept through the alarm this morning.

Sorry Jack you are of course correct :)
It should be plural! I've been saying it wrong for as long as I can remember oh dear :o
At this rate you might have to sack me

Hi Pen,

Even if I wanted to sack you, which I definitely don't, it is not only not within my power but our readership would fall away at the drop of a hat.  They love you as they loved Les and who would stick around to listen to my boring soliloquies.

By the way, I didn't realise the idiom was plural until I checked to see if my answer was right.

Now for others that haven't solved the rebus, we can change the rebus to give this word count  #2 #5 #2 #4 #5 and the instructions on the first picture to read  "Picture two you're not interested in who he is but what one of the miserable old bugger's characteristics is.  Please then re-arrange the letters and add an "s" to make it plural.

Sleep tight.

Hi Jack

Thanks for your very kind words :-*  Sorry but I have to take issue about your boring soliloquies.  Quite the opposite!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't realise the idiom was plural.  Makes me feel a bit better.

I'm off to have a cuppa and catch up with Gill :)  She's an old x-ray colleague - happily retired.

I'll be back tomorrow.

Hi Jack

It's cold and rainy here today :(  On the bright side I'm going out to lunch with Barbs and Nic, one of our old Halifax cronies :)  We're off to The Three Trees which is a nice pub nearby for all three of us!

My rebus is an idiom which has slight variations.  I'm going to do it as I'd say it!  I'm confident it wont give you any problems and I'll even include a word count >:D

#3 5 (#2 + #3) #4 #7 #4

Please lose the first letter of pictures two and four and the first two letters of picture six.  There are a couple of homophones and please pretend it's all on one line.
Shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes.

That's all from me.  This tickled me ;D

Hi Pen,

I wasn't meaning that my open conversations with you were boring although that is for others to judge.  I was just predicting that if I didn't have my interactions with you and our other friends to feed off, then my posts would become boring soliloquies.

We discovered this morning that we had a leak in a polyester water pipe that runs under the lawn we had laid just before Christmas.  We were quite worried and we had visions of the lawn being spoilt.

We needn't have worried.  The plumber I called was excellent.  He came promptly and fixed the leak and back-filled and cleaned up the site in less than an hour. So there was no permanent damage except for a little dip in our bank balance. :D

I am too tired to do a rebus tonight, so I will say goodnight.  See you tomorrow.
Regards, Jack

Hi Pen,

Your post came in 30 seconds before I posted.

Just as well you included a word count otherwise I would have rolled over and gone to sleep. A very good rebus.  It took me about  7 minutes because I had to think past the obvious with the first picture.

This time definitely good night.

Hi Pen,

It has been a while since my rebus has been a palindrome.  One of the advantages of a palindrome as a rebus is that when you have the answer it is self testing.

#4  #3   2 1  8(#3  #2  #3)  #3

Conceptually one line.  Position essential.

Picture 1.  Only the first 3 letters.
Picture 2.  A homophone of the hairy one.
Picture 3.  A synonym of his name and the remove the first 2 letters.

in Jack, because picture 3 is not showing up for me. However, since I'm supposed to be looking for a person's name, the Bonnie photo is lovely, but possibly not much help.

Hi Yvonne,

Here is another two (belt and braces)

P.S.  I didn't test the original for other browsers.  A quick check has it working for Firefox and Chrome but not for Safari and Edge..  Both of the substitutes appear to work on all four.
