It might just simply be my age of course

Hi Pen,

What Age you are is comparative with the age of the observer.

I couldn't possibly agree with your rebus.  I consider you to be just the opposite. Otherwise, how could you keep coming up with such great humour?

And now

Cheers, Jack

I hope that helps!

Hi Madeleine,

Between you and Pen, I think I am now full bottle on woke.  In spite of being an aged, white, privileged male, I hope I am considered to be woke.

I really liked the explanation of Gammon which was a ‘newy’ to me.  I must lead a sheltered life. :)

Thanks, heaps.

Cheers, Jack

Hi Again Jack

I think Madeleine summed it up much better than I ever could :)

Thank you for your very lovely comment  :-*

I have a bottle of pink muck chilling in the fridge & Zoe & I are going to have a good dither over which film to watch a little later   Two indecisive people is never a good combination >:D

Hi Pen,

I hope your weekend is dryer than ours.

George, the barman, asks the Blue, who is sitting at the bar, 'What'll you have?'

Blue answers, 'I'll have a scotch, mate.'

George hands him the drink, and says, 'That'll be $4.60,'

Blue splutters, 'What are you talking about? I don't owe you anything for this.'

Roger, a lawyer, sitting nearby and overhearing the conversation, then says to George, 'You know, he's got you there. In the original offer, which constitutes a binding contract upon acceptance, there was no stipulation of remuneration.'

George was singularly unimpressed, so he says to the Blue, 'OK, you beat me for a drink. But don't ever let me ever catch you in here again.'

The next day, Blue again walks into the bar. George glowers and rasps, 'What the bloody hell are you doing in here? I can't believe you've got the nerve to come back!

Blue smiles and says, 'What are you talking about? I've never been in this place in my life!'

George looks at the Blue closely and mutters, '''I'm sorry, but this is uncanny. You must have a double'

Blue, without missing a beat says, 'Thanks, mate. Make it a scotch.'

Hi Jack

It's like a beautiful summer's day here :o  Clear blue sky & very warm!  Better make the most of it as they're forecasting rain tomorrow.  Zoe & I just walked to the local shop - only about 15/20 minutes away & we're cooked!

I enjoyed your post - made me laugh out loud

We re-watched The Dish last night :)  It doesn't matter how many times I watch it I love it :)

My puzzle is a song from that film.

You need what our American friends call picture one & then please change the first letter.  Please pretend it's all on one line.

Need to put the kettle on.  Leave you with this

I think it was Mike who recommended it in the first place Madeleine. Definitely a Forumite. Hope you enjoy it as much as Zoe & I do. We've got vastly different tastes in films! She loves Alien & Jurassic Park while I enjoy something more gentle & feel good  Penx

Hi Pen,

I’ve been across the other side of town for much of the day and I bombed out on yesterday’s 7bymany and I have just got to the forum.

My rebus is a word that I heard on Letters and Numbers tonight.

The position is important.

Picture 1.  You only need a short one of them (but not one of the kids)

In the words of DI Fred Thursday

That's a great rebus John.  I looked at it first thing when I was enjoying my early morning cuppa & I was going to offer up The Tiger Who Came To Tea    I had only just crawled out of bed :-P

G'day Jack

Hope this finds you fit & well & fully recovered from your tumble last week.  Bet you had a corking bruise :(

It's promising to be a hot one here today 24oc phew.  I expect it'll be hot on the fracture clinic this afternoon as it has glass skylights & the sun beats down.  Bit like being in a greenhouse! Can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to it!

My rebus today is lovely & simple. It's a film from about 20 odd years ago.
9 5 6 6

I'm not sure you'll need much help with this - it's easy, squeezy, peasy   The first picture represents the first two words.  If I tell you that the train in picture three is in Wales it should help get the name of it & the last word of the film title.

My neighbour has a model railway in his back garden.  It runs round the fishpond & through the potting shed & his wife has a special gin carriage which makes deliveries in the summer

My neighbour opposite called for an ambulance. "I've found someone unconscious on Anemone Terrace."
"Can you spell that?"
"Just a minute, I'll just drag him round the corner to Rose Road!"

Bruce Lee was fast, but he had an even faster brother…
Sudden Lee!

I never thought that I would be the type of person to get up early in the morning to go running…
and I was right!

Leave you with a few naff jokes ;D  Nearly lunchtime :-H
