A 1969 stage play which became a fairly successful 1975 film.

I went off on a bit of a wild goose chase with your clever rebus Mike.  I thought the second picture was a vent so I wandered off into the realms of nuns :-R
Got there in the end at the third time of asking :)

If life gives you lemons, add a large gin & some tonic...

I only use Blue in stories where he exhibits those characteristics and that is possibly the reason you have a good picture of him in your mind.

The lockdown is not terribly onerous for us.

Hi Jack

I'm having an enjoyable & fairly relaxing day off.  Been out for a bite to eat with an old friend & popping out again a little later.  Thought I'd do a quick post in between times.

You've summed up Blue perfectly how I imagine him to be :)

I'm glad the lockdown isn't presenting you with too much of a problem :)

The local " bottleo " is still open so i'm all good.
I presume Les means the pub's still open for business

I enjoyed your rebus :)

My rebus is a 1980's film which was adapted from a book published quite a few years earlier.

In the first picture you're not interested in the footballers or the game.  Please change the first letter of the fourth picture.  Surname of the actress in the last picture.  Please pronounce it how it's spelt!
I expect that's as clear as mud >:D

Not really a piece of weather lore, my offering today is the first two lines of a popular kids' nursery rhyme.
What it says is true in most of UK; I don't really know how it applies in the southern hemisphere

ten words - 3/5/4/4/4/3/2/5/4/4

picture 8 - change the 'e' to an 'a'
picture 9 - drop the first letter

I don't know either, but I can guarantee with absolute surety that it doesn't apply to Redlands and almost everywhere in Queensland where it is usually hotter than a shearer's armpit. :D

This is the hilarious post from Pat that i was encouraging you to look for the other day ;

How To Shower Like a Woman

Take off clothes and place them sectioned in laundry basket according to lights and darks.

Walk to bathroom wearing long dressing gown.

If you see husband along the way, cover up any exposed areas.

Look at your womanly physique in the mirror - make mental note to do more sit-ups / leg-lifts, etc.

Get in the shower.

Use face cloth, arm cloth, leg cloth, long loofah, wide loofah and pumice stone.

Wash your hair once with cucumber and sage shampoo with 43 added vitamins.

Wash your hair again to make sure it's clean.

Condition your hair with grapefruit mint conditioner enhanced.

Wash your face with crushed apricot facial scrub for 10 minutes until red.

Wash entire rest of body with ginger nut and jaffa cake body wash. Rinse conditioner off hair.

Shave armpits and legs.

Turn off shower.

Squeegee off all wet surfaces in shower.

Spray mold spots with Tile cleaner.

Get out of shower.

Dry with towel the size of a small country.

Wrap hair in super absorbent towel.

Return to bedroom wearing long dressing gown and towel on head. If you see partner along the way, cover up any exposed areas.

How To Shower Like a Man

Take off clothes while sitting on the edge of the bed and leave them in a pile.

Walk naked to the bathroom.

If you see partner along the way, shake willy at her making the 'woo-woo' sound.

Look at your manly physique in the mirror.

Admire the size of your willy and scratch your bum.

Get in the shower.

Wash your face.

Wash your armpits.

Blow your nose in your hands and let the water rinse them off. Fart and laugh at how loud it sounds in the shower.

Spend majority of time washing privates and surrounding area. Wash your bum, leaving those coarse bum hairs stuck on the soap.

Wash your hair.

Make a Shampoo Mohican.

Wee.

Rinse off and get out of shower.

Partially dry off.

Fail to notice water on floor because curtain was hanging out of bath the whole time.

Admire willy size in mirror again.

Leave shower curtain open, wet mat on floor, light and fan on. Return to bedroom with towel around waist.

If you pass partner, pull off towel, shake willy at her and make the 'woo-woo' sound again.

Throw wet towel on bed.

Hi Pen,

We brought our second COVID jabs forward by a fortnight and had them this morning.  We now have our digital certificates if they become useful for anything.

Blue was a bit sad today.  He just learnt that his favourite office supply company will not be making yardsticks any longer.

I was idly thinking about how great a series MASH was when I had a sudden inspiration for a rebus – a book published in the early part of the nineteenth Century set about 70 years before.  The story has been adapted numerous times and in many languages for films, TV movies, and cartoons.

The definite article is not pictured. Conceptually one line.

3   #4   #2   3  8(#2  #2  #4)

Picture 1.  Position of the blue

Bonus Question: What did MASH and the subject of the rebus have in common.

and I'll leave you with this question

Hi Jack

That's so funny  - poor Blue!

I managed to solve both rebuses today so I'm feeling quite smug ;D You're right Mash was a brilliant series.  They don't make 'em like that any more.  I think I have your common denominator but I'll wait for your spoiler :)

I've had a very busy morning in the main department so I've come to the fracture clinic for, hopefully, a more peaceful afternoon.

My rebus is a film released 2014.

Please change the first letter of picture 3.  You want the "first name" of the character in picture 4.
For a bonus point can you spot the connection with this gent

Just over an hour & I can go home for a cuppa ;)  Can't wait!

If life gives you lemons, add a large gin & some tonic...

Loved the picture of the four beetles crossing Abbey Road.
Brilliant!

Worth repeating in case anyone missed or overlooked it.

Hi Pen,

I guess you will be sleeping in this morning building up your strength for your visit to Trent Bridge tomorrow.

That was a devilish rebus, Pen.  I wish I knew how many people cracked it.  Any volunteers?

Last week before the lockdown, Blue watched the Lion King with some of his grandkids. They pointed out to him all the moments in the movie that had a greater meaning because of what they represented. It was the first time he became aware of all the Simbalism.

When they got home he told the kids “The cows are asleep, it's time you went to bed". They replied "What's that got to do with anything”?   Blue said, “It's pasture bedtime, that's why”.

Recently, Blue went to see a topless ventriloquist. She was amazing, he never saw her lips moving even once.

My easy rebus today is a 1970s Booker Prize-nominated Australian novel by a well known Australian author, and a 1970s Australian film of the same name.

“the” and “of” are not pictured
