Hi Pen,

Habit is a poor friend.  Try as I might, I couldn’t get back to sleep after 6.00 am.  We got a phone call about 9:00 O’clock to say Bonnie and Dust were behaving themselves so well that they were proposing to extend the visit for another night.  So we undertook some shopping we had been putting off and even hit some golf balls at the driving range.  We covered about 150 km going to 5 shops and got home totally whacked.  So, I am going to squib out of a rebus today.

There is a rumour going around that the Communists have now banned the TV series "Rumpole of the Bailey" in Hong Kong, because the Speech Therapists have taken to referring to the "distinguished President of China as "Xi who must be obeyed'"

I will leave you with a challenge.  You would recognise these three people, now deceased, instantly in their later years but can you recognise them when they were young?

Regards, Jack

A 1925 silent Russian film which at the Brussels World Fair of 1958 was rated 'the greatest film of all time'.

Another great challenge Mike :)  My poor little grey cell is knacked

Hi Jack

I know exactly what you mean!  Every Friday morning I promise myself an extra hour in bed & every Friday morning I'm wide awake before 6 (sort of) raring to go :-R

I'm finding your challenge rather frustrating   The faces all look familiar - especially the first two but I'm blowed if I can put a name to them!

My rebus is a famous poem.  Don't think you need any further clues.

It's finally stopped raining at last!  Don't know how long for but I'm going to risk a quick walk before it starts again!

This might be me in about 20 minutes  >:D

Love those Jack   Cheered up a very wet, dank & dreary evening.  Our summer appears to have reverted to type!

Hi Pen,
We had the good news and the bad news this morning.  Bonnie came home from her sleep-overs and Brisbane and surrounding areas have been put in a 3 day lock-down from 4.00 pm.

My rebus today is the title of a 1941 non-fiction book by a prolific Australian author which contains his plans for developing the north of Australia by diverting rivers from Queensland to create an inland sea.

Picture 3.  You only want one.

Hi Jack

That's a bit of a bugger :(  Not what you need.

On the brighter side you're finding some great stuff at the moment :)  Have you found a new source? ;)

I've solved half of both the rebuses!  Not terribly helpful.  I would rather have sussed one or the other!!

My rebus is a couple of books by a British author, famous for historical fiction.

I've stumbled onto a small source but I can't tell you more or I'd have to kill you.  :D

I only woke up for a 5 minute walk down the hall but I've already been awake for an hour, so goodnight.

Had you had a glass or 2 of Sauv Blanc when you stumbled? >:D  I'm very glad you did :)

I'm going to give the little grey cell a small work out & then enjoy one of my very last Brokenwoods :( with a glass (or 2!) of pink plonk.  Wish they'd hurry up & make some more!

A BBC trilogy which ran from 1990-1995.
The series takes its name from a novel written by a former Chief of Staff of Margaret Thatcher.
The book was written following a major falling-out with the 'Leaderene'.

You have to name the three parts of the trilogy

Part 1 - three words - 5/2/5; part 2 - four words - 2/4/3/4 (a definite article is not pictured); part 3 - three words - 3/5/3

picture 8 - lose the fourth letter
picture 9 - which one wins?

Remember - this is the original BBC series, not the later US 'remake'.

Hi Pen,

Blue got a job as a security guard.  One of the office car parks he looked after was badly lit and often used by staff for a bit of nooky.

On one of his patrols he confronts a couple in a car, "What you doing, lady?"  The woman says "We're doing the rhumba."

He confronts the next couple. The woman says, "We doing the cha cha cha."

He says sarcastically to the woman in the third car, "I suppose you doing the bossa nova!" "No love, I'm doing the boss a favour."

My rebus for today is a 1980s American historical crime thriller film that is loosely based on the murder investigation of three civil rights workers in the 1960s.

I’ll leave you with a thought. What did one paradigm say to the other paradigm?

Hi Jack

You really are cooking on gas at the moment!  Another cracking post & rebus ;)  I read it while I was enjoying my morning cuppa & it made me laugh out loud

My rebus is a 1970's TV drama based on a book published in the 19th century.

THEOF
Please change one letter of the first picture.

I went to lunch with a champion chess player…
It took him 8 minutes to pass me the salt!

I've started telling everyone about the benefits of eating dried grapes…
It's all about raisin awareness!

There were 79 unprovoked shark attacks last year. Unprovoked... do we really need that word in there? Are there people actually provoking sharks? Is there some daft idiot from Sydney in the water shouting "Hey shark, you bloody looking at me? You got a problem or something? I've got something for you to bite right here!"

It's been raining all day & it's finally stopped so I'm going to venture out before it starts again!
