Not sure any of us will be around to see the 2132 Olympics, Jack.

Take no notice of that furphy, Jack.
My sources in Muswellbrook assure me that Rose is already into heavy training & showing such enormous promise that she is an early favourite to be Australia's number 1 contender in the women's marathon at the 2132 Olympic Games.

I have told this story before, but I am trusting that people have short memories.

My Author today is British. His publications have included cookery books, history and military history, but he is best known for his spy novels.

G'day Jack

I enjoyed your post :)  I didn't remember the story & your jokes made me chuckle and I solved two thirds of your rebus   I couldn't sort the middle one without assistance!  I hadn't realised the author was British.

My rebus is a book which was made into a film.

Picture 1 character's surname. Picture 3 you're not interested in the bowler!

I had a niggling feeling I'd used this before but I have searched so here's hoping I'm wrong ;D

Nearly lunchtime thank goodness :-H

Hi Rose
but Alan is better.

When you have an image tag in your post you can specify width and/or height.

Thus you can have -

Code: [Select]
[img]https://theforum.lexigame.com/reuseclip.png[/img]
Which displays the image at its existing size:

Or you could change it to -

Code: [Select]
[img width=400]https://theforum.lexigame.com/reuseclip.png[/img]
Which reduces it to 400 pixels wide:

You don't need to specify both width and height. If you nominate either one, the image will be resized proportionately.

And remember, "The Preview button is your friend!"

so working on your picture and using height=200, you would get

Code: [Select]
[img height=200]https://st2.depositphotos.com/1985863/5660/v/600/depositphotos_56600861-stock-illustration-fat-woman-fitness.jpg[/img]

A long-running British TV series (1979-1988) which had a total of 112 episodes.

Hi Mike

I solved today's puzzle without too much difficulty :)  I was very cross with myself for not getting yesterday's rebus.  I got bits of it & thought I knew what it was & it turned out I didn't :-R

Looking good Rose.
As you say, there will definitely be none of us around in 2132, lets just hope that we are all still here in 2032.

A great film for your rebus yesterday. The term 'feelgood' movie doesn't do it justice.

Jack
I obviously can't help you with your query about 'Tales of the Unexpected' being shown on Aussie TV.
Have you seen any of the 'Inside No 9' series? Similar in layout to the earlier series - each episode is complete, thirty minutes in length and with a 'twist in the tail'. There are different actors each time, but Reece Sheersmith and Steve Pemberton, who write the scripts, appear in every episode.
The stories are often much darker than Roald Dahl's, and in some cases border on the horrific.
The series may not be to everyone's taste, but it has won many awards. Each series has six episodes and the sixth series has just finished. I for one am looking forward to the next batch

For today
A 1994 British historical film based on an earlier stage play with a similar title, which was changed, largely for the US market.

five words, including an initial definite article which is not pictured - 3/7/2/4/6

picture 1 - reverse the letters
picture 2 - change the final letter to an 's'
picture 3 - the two middle letters

Hi Pen,

I’m losing it.  June said I never had it. It took me a day to wake up why everybody was mentioning 2132. I know I will be pushing it to see the 2032 Olympics but I couldn’t see why young people were so pessimistic.  It took me a day to wake up that I had made a booboo.

While I was typing this, I spilled coffee on the keyboard. I dried it out and have got it working except it won’t type a “h” which means I have to use the screen keyboard which is dreadfully slow and it’s going to be an expensive cup of coffee.

I'll give the rebuses a miss tonight and try to do a spoiler alert in the morning.
Regards, Jack

Spot on Mike.  When you think about it John Thaw did many varied things during his career though I suspect he'll always be remembered as Morse.
I've got your rebus at the second visit  :) I spent quite a while trying to work out where the first picture was.  Numpty!!

Hi Jack

You'd better tell June we've both lost it as I didn't notice either >:D  I'd never make a Police witness

It's so annoying when you have a silly little accident & it causes havoc.  I hope you can sort your "h" out soon.  Of course you can always make sure you use words which don't include an "h" >:D

My got up & go has got up & left!  It's been a long hot week & I'm knacked.  My simple rebus is a film released in the year Zoe was born.

Please lose the last letter of the first picture & the first letter of the last picture.
