I just worked out what the whole word was is in your second rebus.  Could it be midnight? :D

Hi Jack

I probably should have used a 24 hour clock!

Another scorcher here again.  It's going to be even hotter tomorrow.  I'm at work so, hopefully, it might be cooler there!

A great selection of cartoons - the first one especially tickled me
Zoe & I have wrestled your very clever rebus into submission.  Took a fair bit of doing.  We were a bit flummoxed by the dicky birds

My rebus is a song from 1973 by a band I'm very fond of.

Please change the first letter of the second picture.  Character name of the lady in picture 3.

Better make myself a sarnie for tomorrow's lunch.

ps I found one of your very funny cartoons quite by accident!

In Shakespeare's Antony and Cleopatra, Enobarbus, Mark Antony's general, describes the breathtaking beauty of Queen Cleopatra in a famous speech which starts with these words:

thirteen words, including three articles (two definite and one indefinite), which are not pictured - 3/5/3/3/2/4/1/9/6/6/2/3/5

picture 2 - first three letters only
picture 3 - you need the name of the fabric
picture 9- you need a past tense verb

pictures  13-15 are simply an enlarged copy of pictures 5-7 which are a bit small; the word they represent does not need to be repeated

I studied Antony and Cleopatra (as well as All for Love, or The World Well Lost, for comparison) for A-level English in 1968.

Those lines are still burned into my memory.

Hi Mike,

As usual, you had me flummoxed but June got there without the help of Google and just a little help on one picture from me. But I am a bit confused about the numbering.  Should your last hint refer to word 10 (picture 9) and the number for the twelfth word (not pictured) be 3, not 1.

So a few years after me.
Still one of my favourite Shakespeare plays.

Hi Pen,
I’m sorry you are finding the weather bothersome. I would swap you at the drop of a hat – but just for today.  I could do with a day of 30oC.

That was a great rebus.  June commented how pithy it was. I said “yeth”. 😉

    .

I was listening to Australia All Over this morning. The show airs each Sunday morning from 5:30am until 10am on the ABC Local Radio network and has been continuously presented by Ian McNamara since 1985.  The program is known for its rural focus and distinct Australiana content, featuring discussions about Australian history and culture.

The show relies heavily on everyday listeners, mainly from country areas, phoning in to have an impromptu conversation with "Macca" to discuss various items of interest to the program's listeners. Each phone call begins with McNamara saying: "G'day, this is Macca...?" or "Australia All Over, hello?".

The program also regularly features Australia music, bush poetry, book readings, bird calls, interviews with special guests, and the Why I live where I live segment, where McNamara reads aloud a letter sent in by a listener describing why they have chosen to live in a specific part of Australia.

I thought one cringe-worthy song from the show would make a good rebus.   I will give you a head start to keep it short because I am a bit short of time.

I wish there were #4  #7   #5  2   #2

Picture 3. Make it plural. What do you go to see at the West End, Broadway, or in Australia your local pictures?

Have fun at work today.

Hi Jack

I'm sure I've moaned about the hot weather many times :-R  I think half the problem is that it doesn't build up to it gradually - it just arrives overnight!  It's not too bad in here at the moment.  I parked my car under a tree but I suspect that the sun will have moved round by this afternoon :(   I'd happily swap with you

I like the sound of Australia All Over :) & your rebus tickled me. Presume it was tongue in cheek ;D  After failing miserably with Mike's I was pleased to solve yours.

My rebus is a song by a duo released in 1988.

A 1998 US film which is very hard to categorize - comedy?, drama?, sci-fi? - It's all of those, and more.
It has become one of my all-time favourites.
It stars a (future) spider and a (future) liar.  - Bonus point for each of those references.

one word - thirteen letters

picture 1 - abbreviation
picture 2 - first three letters
picture 4 - lose the fifth and sixth letters

Hi Pen,

I just finished the write-up of Mike’s Rebus.  I don’t think you would be interested because it is full of boring things like fornication, masturbation, nudity and all that stuff. >:D

There are a lot of con men in the world but very few have several books written about them.  My rebus today is the title of one book.

3  #3  #3  #4 3  6(#2  #4)   #5

The
the

Conceptually one line.
Picture 1-3. Abbreviate to the required left most letters
Picture 5. Past tense.

Must get on to the write up of this one, so I don't have too much to do in the morning.

G'day Jack

Oh that film's obviously far too racy for my sensitive disposition

My rebus is what I thought your's was initially before I looked properly!!  Confused?  so am I   It's a song.
