My rebus is a painting from 1922 by a French gentleman.
#3 8 (5+5) 9 (#4 + #5)
Please run the first 2 pictures into each other if that makes sense & pretend all the pictures are on one line.  Please name the artist for a bonus point.

Hi Pen,

It was a great barbecue, great meat, a little red wine, and the need for a poppy nap about 5 pm

As a hint to other players, in my notation, your rebus would have been  3 8(#5 #4) 9(#4 #5)

My rebus is one of your guy's works from about 15 years earlier.  Two for the price of de same money, you might say.

#3  7(#5  #2)  8(#4  4) 2  #4

      iore at

Hints:
Picture 1 – first word of location
Picture 3 -  The Moon
Picture 4 – Dame Edna’s Pal

Snooze time again.

Just a flying visit Jack!

Glad you enjoyed the barbecue :)

You're right in your notation of my puzzle :)  What I probably should have done, with hindsight, was to do it as you suggest & noted that picture 2 was a homophone!  Anyway I like to be a bit of a maverick >:D

I loved your fiendish rebus!  I solved it from the middle outwards

Going to give the brain cell a quick work out then slump in front of the box & contemplate work tomorrow :(

Hi Jack

A very busy Monday here.  This morning's gone in a flash & this afternoon is shaping up to do the same.

My post is like me short & sweet >:D  If it gets quieter later I'll return with a rebus.  I'd better get

Hi Jack

A much calmer & quieter day today thankfully.

Is Bonnie back home now? :)

I have a rebus today which is a short film - a prequel to a series of films which are very popular.

He should have his cabinet together by the end of the week.

"Yes we are" she replied "How on earth did you know?"
"Because I can't hear the smoke alarm!"

Nearly lunchtime :-H

Pen, have you noticed that the New tabs are now a lovely shade of red?  Thanks, Alan, much appreciated and a vast improvement!  >:D

Hi Linda

When I signed in this morning I thought the tabs looked a lovely red colour :)  I've moved to a different reception desk this afternoon & the tabs look darker & more like their old colour.  I feel like I'm either going mad or need my eyes testing!! Perhaps I need a lie down in a darkened room

The "new" signs did change to red, but they'll probably be changing back for a while. Try not to look at them for the next few days, if you think it will upset you.

I thought I'd try to deal with both of the issues raised in that thread, the other one being the difficulties people were having on touch screens, but that part of the update was causing some other problems. (If you tried to play a word by double-clicking on the last letter, and the word was rejected, the letters would all fly back right away, rather than staying up on the rack. Ironically this bug only happened with a mouse, not on a touch screen.) So I've reverted temporarily to the previous version for the time being.

We picked up Bonnie 10 am Monday.

You are looking for the name of a character in a 1933 movie.
The part was played by one of the funniest men who ever lived.

Hi Pen,

The last two days I have been working like a beaver, mowing lawns and cleaning up the pool area.  After the recent rains, there has been a surplus of Palm debris.  If they continue to make this much work they may not survive another summer.

June and I don’t have all that many shows that we both like, so we have also been trying to fit in an episode of Brokenwood Mysteries each Day.  In series 3, they have finally come up with subtitles.

I realise Blue hasn’t been pulling his weight lately so yesterday I spent over an hour and I could only come up with 5 worth using.  I did the usual search and found we had used all of them.  The best was the one about the broken egg timer from May last year.

Last night we got a phone call from the daughter of one of our Brighton Lakes friends to say her 90-year-old father was visiting her in North Brisbane and would like to catch up with us.  So we are having lunch with him tomorrow.  We were assured that the restaurant is dog-friendly but we are not confident that Bonnie is restaurant-friendly, so she will spend the day at Coorparoo.

I will try to knuckle down and work out a rebus on Friday.  I hope you and Mike can keep up the good work and what about Les coming out of rebus retirement. :D

Tonight is Dog Training night to replace the last one which was 4 weeks ago.  Each Wednesday night since then has been rained out.
