Thanks for the invitation to come and say hi.

Hi Rose - a very warm welcome :)
Very pleased to read that you enjoy having a bash at our puzzles.  Where are you?  Down in Jack's neck of the woods?

My simple little rebus is the title of a book that was written by the youngest author that has ever been published.
She was just 4 years old when she wrote it & 6 years old when it was published.
It was the one and only book that she has ever written.
There are 4 words in title ; 3 - 3 - 5 - 5.
There is no image for the last word as that clue is in honour of our latest forumite.

Hi Pen,

I have just got back from Coorparoo where I was dog-sitting while the girls were out shopping.  I managed to get some ideas together for a rebus but had to wait until I got home to put it together.

The answer is one of the oldest purpose-built institutions of its type still in use in the United Kingdom.  It cares for (conserves) a collection of artifacts and other objects of artistic, cultural, historical, or scientific importance.

11(#4  #7) 7(#6  1)  7(#4  1  #2)

Hints:
Picture 1 – Part of his nickname.
Picture 3 – Physical appearance

I’ve been offered wine – must go  Spoiler alert and some humour to follow later.

Regards, Jack

No challenge intended Moyra, that was just my way of welcoming " Began " to the forum.
Eagerly awaiting your first rebus.

Hi Pen,

I asked blue if he had any short pithy statements to put a bit of zing into a dull post and he said, “yeth”

Here is a short sample.

1.   "Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until they open their mouths."
2.   "I don't have a beer gut. I have a protective covering for my rock-hard abs."
3.   "I read recipes the same way I read science fiction. I get to the end and I think, 'Well, that's not going to happen.'"
4.   "Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad."
5.   "I'm skeptical of anyone who tells me they do yoga every day. That's a bit of a stretch."
6.   "A clear conscience is usually the sign of a bad memory."
7.   "My therapist says I have a preoccupation with vengeance. We'll see about that."
8.   "You don't need a parachute to go skydiving. You need a parachute to go skydiving twice."
9.   “I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure."
10.   "Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car."

Hi Jack

Another busy day in paradise! The puppies & Bonnie & Dusty went a long way to brightening up my day :)

Went back to your rebus a couple of times & got stuck with your tubby little man   Got there in the end though.  A brilliant tricky puzzle :)  I got stuck on Les's as I thought I was looking for Rose & not Began!  Never mind that Rose only has 4 letters :-R

As we seem to have moved on to things a bit historical I'm offering you a building in the UK which was built in the 18th century.  I don't want to say too much or it'll give it away but you will have seen this many times in a popular TV series.

#3 9 (#3+#6) #6

First 3 letters of second picture.

I'd just gone online for a video conference call when a tin of corned beef popped up on my screen...
must be a zoom meat tin!

I'm a really big fan of the Bee Gees & I also love cooking Chinese food...
You can tell by the way I use my wok!

A book just fell on my head...
I only have my shelf to blame!

Leave you with a few more naff jokes ;D

Hi Pen,

Your rebus had a problem in that, at least on my computer, the third picture did not print.  Luckily, you have used the clue before and, the last time you used this picture in May of last year, you gave the clue "the character you want is the man on the left.

I need another 40 winks, so I will post the spoiler alert later today.
Regards, Jack

Thanks Jack.  I re-checked it just after I posted it & it was still there then.  Disappeared in the meantime :(  I used this bloke this time around but the answer's obviously the same

I'm not a fan of his music - too wishy washy for my taste!
Safe to say 'We Don't Talk Anymore!'  ;D

As we seem to have moved on to things a bit historical

I think it is a good idea to mix the subject-matter of the rebuses up so that we can take into account the various interests of our readers.  This doesn't preclude us from returning to our favourites. Not everyone would like to, or has the skills to, construct rebuses but they may be willing to suggest areas that we could explore.

It is worth clicking on the spoiler even if you are not interested in the answer to the puzzle because of some interesting subsidiary trivia.

Now for something different.  The answer to this rebus is to determine the subject and to complete the Table.
