I'm absolutely fine, thank you for asking, i have just been distracted with the fabulous test cricket series against India.

Glad you're keeping well Les.  I think your series again India has been very exciting.  England are playing in Sri Lanka.  They won the first test by 7 wickets. We have tickets to see England play India in August at Trent Bridge. It's day 2 of a test match.  It's myself & 3 friends/colleagues.  I only hope the situation has improved by then & we can actually go.

Hi Jack

It was a much busier morning than I was expecting.  I'm now settled in the fracture clinic for the afternoon with, hopefully, not too many distractions.

I haven't actually checked your spoiler yet but I think the journey starts from somewhere I spent a holiday a few years ago.  It rained & it rained & it rained a bit more! The journey's end is a square on the Monopoly board not far from this gent's residence!

In my cack-handed way I'm trying to give the answer without spoiling it for anybody else who wants a crack at it!

My puzzle is a novel published in the 1880's.

Hint - just the last 3 letters of the final picture.  Your bonus, should you choose to accept it, is to say how the book got it's title.
I don't think this will trouble your little grey cells unduly

I got a job making plastic Draculas. There are only two of us on the production line...
so I have to make every second count!

A few of my work colleagues are holding a joint party for Chinese New Year & Burns Night.  It's called Chinese Burns Night...
I didn't want to go but they twisted my arm!

If life gives you lemons, add a large gin & some tonic...

Hi Pen,

My Puzzle is a quote from a 2004 Novel by an Edinburgh Author.

#3  #3  #4  #3  #6  #5  #3  #7  #4

Hints.
1.   All 3 letter words are in the exact middle of the word implied by the picture.
2.    I have made the pictures larger so that the pictures are more distinct.  If the page was wide enough all the pictures would be on one line.

People don’t have to prove they have solved a clue.  We’ll take their word for it.  After all we are playing for fun and bragging rights, not sheep stations.

Pen, even I am tempted to watch a bit of the cricket on the idiot box today.  I’ll see if I can spot Les. :D

Hi Pen,

After I posted this morning, Blue came around to complain that he and Sheila had been fighting a lot lately.

Yesterday, he was watching a football match on TV and kept switching channels back and forward from the football game to a raunchy movie featuring a couple in bed going hard at it.

I don’t know whether to watch them or the game", Blue said to Sheila

For heaven’s sake, watch them,” Sheila answered, “You already know how to play football!”

And then the fight started...

Blue tried to talk Sheila into buying a slab of XXXX Gold that was on special at the BWS Spring Hill for $45.95.
Instead, she bought a jar of cold cream for $7.95.

Blue told her the beer would make her look better at night than the cold  cream.

And then the fight started....

Blue took Sheila to a restaurant.  The waiter, for some reason, took Blue’s order first.

Blue said, "I'll have the Porterhouse, medium rare, please."

The waiter said, "Aren't you worried about the mad cow?"

Nah, she can order for herself."

And then the fight started...

Blue asked Sheila, "Where do you want to go for our anniversary?"

It warmed his heart to see her face melt in sweet appreciation.

"Somewhere I haven't been in a long time!" she said.

So Blue  suggested,"how about the kitchen?"

And that's when the fight started....

Crickets over.  I think I will join Les in an activity.

Hi Jack

My condolences on the cricket >:D  It sounds like it was a cracking match.  Lets hope India go off the boil a bit before I go to watch them in August

I think I've solved your very tricky puzzle but I'll go back to it a bit later as I'm not sure what I've come up with makes much sense!

My puzzle is a quote from a book by the author of Porterhouse Blue.

Please lose the last letter from picture 5.
I've had a bit of a struggle with my puzzle today.  Several of my pictures vanished without trace!  Hope they stick this time :)

A couple of Mike the radiographer jokes.

Why do ants never get poorly?
Because they have antibodies!

How do you tell the sex of an ant?
Throw it in water.  If it sinks it's a girl.  If it floats it's a boy ant!

That's it it's nearly lunchtime >:D

sorry Jack I got my knickers in a twist this morning with my disappearing pictures.  Mean to say it was great to see Blue back on top form
I think it should have been commiserations rather than condolences!!

I was almost right with your puzzle.  I got crumpled instead of rumpled   Please don't point out that that is the wrong number of letters :'(

An excellent puzzle, Pen, to top off some great posts (with only a small whinge) :D.

I am afraid I might not be able to reciprocate with a puzzle at the moment and maybe not until the weekend.

The Coorparoo mob are spending several days at a farm stay in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.  A typical Queenslander in the middle of a fair-sized farm I am told.  They invited us to spend two days with them.  I was not particularly keen as I escaped a farm over 60 years ago, but it does provide Dusty and Bonny to have a good romp in a different environment.  So, we are heading off shortly.

I suspect the only internet that will be available will be our iPhone Hot Spots.  So my contributions, if any, until the weekend will be limited.

Some kind forumites might fill in the gap.

This one is too easy - it was a humungous hit in 1967 for the Kinks:

Two words - 8, 6

Hope the first picture sticks.  It didn't show up to start with when I previewed it & then it suddenly popped up!

Hi Jack

I hope you have good couple of days away.  You never know you might surprise yourself & enjoy it!  & if you don't Bonnie certainly will

I have a couple of days to come up with a sneaky & devious puzzle >:D

Hi Pen,

The only thing more numerous than the birds this morning are the mosquitoes. Thank God for the aerogard. But listening to the news, we have finally got rid of the biggest pest of all.

The area is mountainous, sparsely populated, quite heavily timbered, and has obviously had plenty of rain recently.  The soil is red-brown as the dogs have found out. I will post some photos when I get internet access on my laptop.

I managed for a brief time this morning to get my iPhone’s hotspot to work but it then dropped out and I haven’t been able to get it to work again.

Regards, Jack

If you are a left-leaning Englishman, as I am, I would amend your sentence to 'one of the two biggest and most dangerous pests'

I'll have another go at doing a rebus:

Four words, 4-2-3-4

The last words spoken in a classic 1960 black /white comedy

Who spoke the words to who(m)? (Actors' names) (And name of the film, of course)
