And me too, Les.  As you can see, this thread still bears your name.  You may have been gone, but never forgotten!
I'll sleep in my next life

A warm welcome back from me too Les.  Sorry you've had an awful time of it but glad you're back on your feet.

Look forward to hearing more from you...

Hi Jack

Think it's about time we had some more puppy pictures :)

Work's been very busy the last couple of days.  It's a challenge when we have too many patients & not enough seats for them all to sit the required distance apart.  It always baffles me the number of people who come along to the hospital with their other half "for the ride"!!  If they're the driver then sit in the car or wait outside.  Don't clutter up my waiting room please :-R

Anyway I found a gun related joke which is not as funny as yours but made me chuckle!

That Private Williams is a fine shot with a rifle," observed the sergeant. "Yes," said the lieutenant, "but I wonder what was his occupation before he joined the army." "Why is that, sir?"
"It's the way he takes out his handkerchief and wipes his fingerprints off the gun every time he takes a shot."

Nearly lunch time :-H

I'm buggered if i know what's happening with this computer ( or its operator ) but i finally got a " reply ' option so that i could respond to all of your very kind  & much appreciated " welcome back " messages.

I 've forgotten how all this stuff works but i will try to attach a link to a song that i think you might enjoy, particularly our friends from all around the world.

Well, bugger me,  What you see when you haven't got a gun.

G'day, Les.  I'm glad you finally stuck your head up again.  We've struggled on trying to keep your spirit alive but nothing is as good as the real thing.

There is no need to apologise to friends.  We all knew you had your demons and we were happy to let you deal with them in your own way.  We were a bit disappointed that it took so long but welcome back.

I notice you still won't win a gold medal for technical competence but while you were away, Pen has become an expert and I'm sure she will be more than happy to give you some tips.  I might even throw in the odd bit of advice myself.

Have they rebuilt your pub yet?
Regards, Jack

Hey Pen,

Did you know that on the Canary Islands there is not one canary,  And on the Virgin Islands, same thing.  Not one Canary.

The breeder has gone off on a two day holiday with her partner to celebrate their wedding anniversary and left a dog sitter in charge.  But two pictures were posted today.

I liked your undecided jokes.  I hope they weren’t autobiographical.

I don’t think you let on before that you were a boarder at school.  That’s a bit posh, isn’t it?

I want to leave you with one message that I particularly identify with.
Regards, Jack

When are people going to accept/acknowledge that ALL LIVES MATTER and we all need to do the right thing?  I feel like ranting about Covid stupidity....but I won't!
WELCOME BACK, LES !

Oh Jack that was one of my Dad's favourite expressions.  He often used to say "the things you see when you haven't got a gun!"  Love it

You should know by now that I'm plagued by the dithery gene :(  Sadly it afflicts both my sister & my daughter

I was packed off to boarding school when I was 11.  My Mum & Dad ran a village pub & decided that I'd be better off out of the way.  I hated it & ran away twice.  Problem was they kept taking me back

My technical competence is better than it was but not a patch on yours!  Still I look like a genius compared to Les >:D

Love the pictures & the joke really tickled me

wholehearted agree

ps just spotted that you've changed your location :)  I'd never make a police witness

Just watched your clip Les & it made me smile :)  Couldn't watch it earlier as I would have entertained the whole waiting room full of patients   We do have quite a few slang expressions in common which tickled me!
