Hi Jack

Loved the lighter & cartoons!

Sadly I'm hot as in glowing rather than hot like Elle Macpherson >:D  As you know I'm a short arse - 5 foot nothing!  So no resemblance to Ms Macpherson in any shape or form

I am bursting to give you a clue but I'm going to sit on my hands & wait for you to get it tomorrow morning or for somebody to chip in :)  I'm certain you wont have a problem when you look at it with a fresh pair of eyes.

I definitely wont mention the Bosch ;)
(Still can't believe they wanted to ban that episode of Fawlty Towers >:()

Leave you with a couple of daft cartoons.  They tickled me ;D

Helping out with the 'Far from the madding crowd' connection, Jack. The two movies could have something in common which has a vague connection with philately.

Two more classic Aussie films, the 'top' one probably better known than the other.

Top - two words [9 and 6]
Bottom - two words [4 and 5] I've ignored a punctuation mark

I can't think of a link between the two, but if anyone can find one, shout it out.

That's a cracking clue Rose :)

Great puzzles Mike.  The cake looks good - could do with a slice of that to go with my mid-morning cuppa!  I solved both of them but will keep quiet in case other folks want to have a crack at them.  I can't find a link between the 2 films.

Ham, tomato and salad cream for me, Pen!

Very humid today - getting a headache which is unusual for me.  Thankfully, all fairly quiet at work today, no smelly farmers and very few phone calls but lots of dictation and more emails then I care to look at!  Roll  on Wednesday evening - I will be sinking an Oyster Bay or two while watching Sewing Bee.  Don't know why I watch it really as I detest sewing - can barely manage to sew on a button!!  >:D

I love ham, tomato & salad cream Linda yummy!

It's very humid & sticky here too & I also have a headache.  The mask doesn't help as it makes you very dry & thirsty & it seems that however much water you drink it doesn't help!

Well I honestly didn't think there was much more we could have in common but I hate sewing & am useless at it   I can just about sew a button on & stitch up a hem but it always looks like a toddler's been at it >:D

Hope the rest of your day stays quiet with no more smelly visitors banging on your door!

It'll be Wednesday evening before you know it :)

Thanks, Rose, I’ll add Terrence to my Stamp colllection.

A great collage, Mike.

One link is they had quotes which have become well-known Australian idioms.

“Call that a knife, this is a knife”

“The only poll that matters is the one on election night”. John Gorton in a cameo appearance.  Unfortunately, it was three more years before “It’s Time”

Hi Pen,

I am Tikal babu.   I woke up with a question in my mind. “If you do a double shift, do you get a day off  in loo?  ;)

If so that would explain how you had the time to construct such a clever puzzle. The day two days before Easter can seem interminably long. I assume you were after the surnames of the female actors because I couldn’t find surnames for Victoria and Carol.

The connection raised another question. Why didn’t they give Bob the role of Roger rather than Eddie Valiant?

Ontrac at 8, so I must

Hi Jack

Glad you're Tikal babu :)
Is that the same as this happy furry creature? >:D

Unfortunately I don't get a whole day in loo as it wasn't a full double shift.  My normal day is 9 hours so I just get 2 & a half hours back.  Better than a slap in the face with a wet cod fish   I do have tomorrow off so 2 days to restore my equilibrium :)  Got to come in on Saturday though :(

Top marks for my puzzle :)  I remember it being a good, if somewhat gritty, film.  Again I don't know how well it would stand up now.

Hope your day jogging along ok.  Soon be going home time & you can enjoy a glass (or 3 >:D) of Oyster Bay :)
We had a thunder storm yesterday tea time with more forecast for later on.  I was trying to fry an egg to go with my bangers & chips & shouting at it to go away

Hi Pen

Cumberland sausages and tomato ketchup in a large white roll for me today!  Naughty but so nice as I feel I deserve a treat.  Had the afternoon from hell yesterday.  Phone ringing constantly, loads of complicated emails and attachments to send and a headache.  Never mind, in four hours I will be back on furlough for three weeks!!

We had a torrential downpour yesterday but disappointingly no thunderstorm.

So pleased that you have an aversion to sewing - not sure I could ever get on with someone who loved it!!

Have a good 'un!  >:D
