Hi Pen,

Here is an easy rebus for you.

It is a book in a series by an English novelist, best known as the author of historical crime stories set in ancient Rome and its empire.

Position and quantity are important.  The definite article is not pictured.

Morning (Evening!) Jack

All quiet on the Western Front so far - long may it continue!  I'm liking your variation on the rebuses :)  Very clever.

I had a suspicion I might have done my rebus before but I'm going to chance it & cross my fingers & toes

The first picture gives you the first three words.  Once you have that I think the rest will fall into place.

Getting busy now so I'm going to skedaddle for the moment...

It's me again Jack!

Just a couple of bits I didn't get chance to post this morning.

Blue's friend Bruce walks into the hardware store and says "I'd like some nails please mate".
The shop assistant asks "how long would you like them?"
"Forever if that is ok with you" replies Bruce.

An insult favoured by Aussies - "I hope that your chooks turn into Emu's and kick your dunny down."
I can't tell you why that made me chuckle - but it did ;D

Less than an hour til I can go home & get the kettle on!
If life gives you lemons, add a large gin & some tonic...

Hi Pen,

You probably guessed I have been looking for new ways to present a rebus.  Today is a situation analysis.  Here is a cartoon about what the robber said.

This is what I think he really said

Hi Jack

I'm very much enjoying your new ways of presenting a rebus :)  I've racked my brains & haven't managed to come up with anything different.  Doesn't mean I'm going to stop trying though.  I'm dashing in and out today as I'm finishing work after lunch and heading off to Sainsburys to do a bit of shopping and then home to do a few chores.  I know how to live life on the edge

Indeed there is a lot of water coming from the Murray Darling system

I live on a a flood plain but my understanding is that where I live did not get flooded in 1956  One can only live in hope

Unfortunately a lot of people will badly impacted

Looking on the bright side the Yabbies will be in abundance  I do love a yabby

Thanks for your kind thoughts

Hi Carol

I hope you're safe & dry.  Why do they build on flood plain?  They're doing it not a million miles from here.
I had to look up a yabby as I'd not heard of it!
I'm going to enjoy porridge & blueberries :-H  My Friday treat as I don't have time for it on schooldays  ;D
Keeping my fingers & toes crossed that you're ok.

It does not matter if the glass is half full or half empty...it is refillable.
Enjoy.

Hi Pen,

I had a few distractions yesterday, so here is a quick easy rebus.  An Idiom

Hi Pen,

I wouldn't bother putting any great effort into trying to come up with something different.  Your rebuses are great already.   It just that I have software that I rarely use, and I thought it would be a challenge to use it to spice up my posts a bit.

Blue had a dream last night.  He was talking to God, as one does.
Blue: How long is a billion years?
God: To me it is but a minute
Blue: How much is a billion dollars?
God: To me, it is a cent
Blue: Can I have a cent?
God: Wait a minute.

Blue went into a Pet Store and asked for a dozen bees.  The shop Assistant carefully counted out 13 bees.  Blue pointed to the last one.  Blue asked, “Why that one?”  The assistant replied, “because it’s a freebie.

An easy traditional rebus today. A radio serial which developed in a tv series, comics etc.

Conceptually one line; two definite articles and a possessive apostrophe not pictured.
